Y’all are allowed to have your opinions about the character designs but plz don’t go demanding for the artist to change it, it’s a nice depiction of how licorice cookie could look like as a human and don’t get me started on how adorable poison mushroom cookie turned out lol
Then it comes to these designs there is no opinion on what they would look like human. They already look like humans anyways. Licorice was meant to be black because of his skin tone AND he has dreads. It was obvious he was meant to be black. And the fact that the artist took away what makes him beautiful and different is screwed up

The fact there is so many people screaming about white washing Licorice makes me depressed. Licorice is infact NOT black but that is your interpretation because you think he is, Licorice is literally grey and his hair is licorice. I just wanna put it out there that different people and different artists can have different views on what they think the cookies look like more “humanoid”. Devsisters has never specified on most of the cookies having canon races or cultures except for the heavily implied ones (e.g Kumiho, Starfruit, Lilac, Peach, Plum, etc, which is obviously not okay to modify their already existing skin tone or their POC features.)
Devsisters doesn’t give a shit about how people interpret the cookies and loves all the fanwork they receive, they have never specified what cookies are which races as it’s up to the artist or viewer to interpret it.
And another note, Licorice cookies’ hair looks like that because it’s meant to look like strands of licorice, but it's up to people to interpret what it is, locs or not. *Don't push your headcanons onto people and excuse it by saying it's whitewashing when he's in fact, not POC coded. He's fucking grey.*

Anyone who starts race-coding licorice because he "looks like he has dreads" is extremely racist. Not all black people have dreads, numerous different cultures and ethnicities are capable of having the hair style, plus, it wasn't even dreads to begin with. It was _licorice._

Or maybe the fact that MILLIONS are homeless around the world, a majority of them being poc people who need your help? No? Of course not, because you're all too busy whining about what someone else draws.
Seriously, there's so many REAL problems in the world, but you all just want to focus on being toxic and hateful over fictional drawings from a videogame that wasn't even made in your country. You don't own the characters. You don't know their ethnicities. So stop spreading hateful stereotypes and demanding they be drawn black just because they look darker, because that alone is offensive as all hell. They're darker because of their cookie type. Get. For those who want to help the real cause, there's numerous volunteer programs you can get involved with as well as petitions you can sign, you can donate food you aren't going to eat and clothes you aren't going to wear, old towels and blankets, old stuffed animals and books, you can donate all of these things to people in need right now, especially those of you who aren't financially well off? You can still do so so so much to help people. Old things you don't need anymore, or raising awareness online or in your school, even see if you can get your class involved in helping these people who need you right now.
Seriously, please. There's so many more important things to focus on than the way an artist draws. All of this hostility? It just turns _you_ into the problem. Bruh these fake woke people are everywhere. I don't like white washing too but I don't think most of the cookies have a canonic skin colour (cookies like espresso, lilac, poison mushroom and mint choc chip etc is obviously black tho). They're just cookies lmao. Licorice's skin tone in CRK is literally grey, which is portrayed really well in this animation. People can colour most of the cookies however they want to. If you headcannon that they have darker skin then great. Create content yourself with the skin tone YOU think they have. But don't go out of your way to harass someone- especially someone who had put great effort into an animation like this- just because they didn't draw the characters the same as you or how you imagined them to be. Can't we all just be wholesome and appreciate this fluff for once????

Y’all please stop this madness and enjoy the animation, licorice cookie is legit a normal grey color in the original cookie run game. They made it using the original characters color and not to the fan version.
Like seriously, just because it’s closer the original does not make it “whitewashed”
Edit: However, I can agree on the hair, I think they should’ve kept the original hairstyle that licorice had.

@@rainhousev6042 try to realize that not everyone who draws hair in another style is trying to kill poc rep. They kept mushroom the exact same, does that mean that they’re trying to get rip of all the “rep”?
they probably didn’t know how to draw locs in the first place so they stuck with something simpler, it’s like if I put in weave, I’m not trying to kill my African roots, I’m making it easier to manage, and that’s probably what the creator was doing too.
You work so hard making such a big deal out of one thing, when you would probably make him black if he was full on light skinned anyway, so why are you coming on here getting angry about a grey cookie?

Because they are cookies, COOKIES, they have different flavors and different ingredients, therefore having different colors. THIS ISN’T RACE! Licorice’s cookie’s hair is LICORICE because he’s freaking LICORICE COOKIE. I swear, some people just want a problem. And this isn’t whitewashing, he is a grayish color in the game!
Well- they also have cultures too! And it’s okay to acknowledge and celebrate that these cookies are inspired by cultures too. I mean- kimiko cookie is made out of marshmallows- yet she has an obvious culture aesthetic. Why are y’all so stressed out about race????
