    They're mostly private kindergartens, which is quite expensive compared to the public ones in the cities. Great thing for kids, but only if you can afford it.

      In my german town the Waldkindergarten is free for the same time as the public one. The town pays the private groups as well.

    • @JoBikotch
      @JoBikotch Před 6 lety +1

      We also have a few of those nearby and as far as I know they're all handled just like the normal kindergartens.
      Of course there might be some that you have to pay more for, but same goes for normal kindergartens.

      First of all: Stardrop Levinas is right, these forest kindergartens are public kindergartens AS WELL AS private ones.
      And even talking about private ones its not that difference you might know from the USA.
      We care for this kind of stuff, its balanced well, for sure nothing only rich people could do. A friends daughter goes in one, and he is machine operator and she is a part time tailor. So, not rich at all. Still, no problems to send also their son there soon.

    I'm just a little concerned, because I feel a toddler shouldn't be handling a knife even if supervised, but overall this seems like a great thing!

    • @luziealyssa5677
      @luziealyssa5677 Před 7 lety +2

      The worst thing that could happen is that they cut themselves but they are thought how to handle knifes so I don't think that happens very often.

    • @mysund
      @mysund Před 6 lety +5

      "It is in the second amendment to the forrest constitution, that it is every child's
      right (duty, even, if you ask me) to bear knives. To protect from offensive pedagogues, and teaching plans."

    • @JoBikotch
      @JoBikotch Před 6 lety +1

      I mean, of course they might cut themselves sometimes, but they won't chop off their fingers or anything. When I was in the Kindergarten I also started to use knifes to make stuff from sticks I found. I was a in a normal Kindergarten, but even there we had a big outdoor playground and spent most of our time outside, sometimes doing small trips to the surrounding forests.
      All those oversheltered kids and teens I've met throughout school had sorts of problems to be independent and often struggled in social situations, because everything they did got controlled by their parents.

    • @i-am-your-conscience
      @i-am-your-conscience Před 6 lety +3

      And why? If you treat a kid like a responsible person, it will grow up being a responsible person. Also, a healthy person.
      And yeah, maybe they cut themselves, but guess what? It wont happen again because it hurts. Obvious isnt it.
