Demais este trecho do filme, adorei a música com fundo árabe ,mistico e casado com as ondas de Pavones foi algo de muito bom, .Quem foi, sabe o q tem de mágico nesse lugar.Aloha hermanitos.Parabéns Jonathan Yonkers.
I did their 4-week program, and it was great. There are also a number of great 4-year BFA programs at universities. The one I'm doing (which is fantastic) is at Chapman University. You can also learn a lot just by reading stuff online. The website of Videomaker Magazine has a collection of helpful articles that cover more than the basics.
Nice, that looks like a sweet camera. Classes are awesome, there is so much hands on and so many people to work with and learn from. I shoot on a Sony FX1 and edit with Avid. By the way I live in Manuel Antonio.
There's a number of ways to study film. Personally I've found that reading books on filmmaking teaches you a lot, especially if you also watch a lot of movies. There is a school called the New York Film Academy (NYFA) that does everything from one week summer camps to a two-year Master's degree.
dude im from costa rica, i never went to pavones, i usually surf north pacific went i go visit my family there, are you planning on post a longer video just to show my friends how good waves are down there, what an awesome video, pura vida!!! nice shot
In MA I shoot commercials, weddings, real-estate videos and stuff like that, but I've got some scripts I wrote for short films I could shoot in CR that I've never had the time or the help to get shot. It'd be really cool to work together. Sucks though, I'm leaving in a week to go back to college for another semester, but I'll let you know when I'm coming back.
Haha, I was checking out the Canon as well. The amount of customization you can do with that is pretty badass. And I'm sure the 20x comes in handy for shooting surfing. I was thinking about heading up to Tamarindo to do some surfing. Somehow I've never been up there before. I'd love to meet up with you too; thanks for the invite. And yeah dude it'd be awesome to have you crew, we should do some shoots together.
bro u should fly into guanicaste (idk if thats spelled right) because if u fly into san jose the nearest beach is an hour or so away and that is jaco and tamarindo is like 4-6 hours away which has alot of good breaks plus if you go to tamarindo you can stay at witchs rock and they will take you too all the best breaks around there
I use a canon XH-A1. Beautiful camera with great 20x optical lense. I also use FCP for editing, but I only know the basics. I live in Tamarindo and red have been interested on NYFA for a while but I can not yet afford it. Hows your learning going? What do you use? j
@jonathanyonkers Man i have to go there. Those waves are like plate glass. Also nice video. Love the song. Let me know the name of it if you get this. Thanks
i think the beach is for everybody whether they are from land locked Uganda or an island in the middle of the pacific. personally i never cut anyone off that i am aware of. but its a shame if some idiots do.
i know you guys hate bodyboarders, irrational as it may be i understand, it is a lesser sport, if it can be classed as a sport.. but i enjoy it, cuz i dont get time to learn to surf as i live hundreds of miles from a decent wave. anyway, im gonna CR in November, was wondering if anyone knows if there's anywhere you can hire bodyboards and fins? oh and does it hurt when one of those lands on you? im only used to messy waves rarely see em breaking clean like that..
...thats pretty funny, I really wanted the camera you have now, but eventually came across etra mney and went for the long zoom lense of the canon, very happy with it. Hey, let me know if you ever come to Tamarindo, you can crash at my place, also if you come across any fun projects, I ll be happy to crew. What do you do in MA? j
gday. I am aussie surfer. and am going to costa rica as we tour with Cirque Du Soleil. We want to make a surf movie and were wondering if you could help us out. I love this movie you made and was wondering what you used? where, when? any other surf spots near by? the chapitteau (our tent) shall be in San JOse, so yeah. any ideas of how to get to surf etc would be appreciated. Jose I recently won the go pro sweepstakes and won 1 of everything they make. Any other camera i should bring?

This has been for years, and always will be, my all time favorite surf clip.
I was lucky to surf Pavones in June 1990 for a week. Other than our group.....three other people were surfing.....3' to 10' sets. Memorable.
Amazing music and video, we love our Country.
Nice video always remember my favorite place
