Does the Opel Grandland have what it takes?

The segment the Opel Grandland plays in is a tough one. It has to compete with my favourite car, the Kia Sportage. But that doesn't mean it isn't a great product. It is just maybe not as good as some of the rivals. It is a case of being good is not good enough, you have to be great. Or even better than great.

I love the way pedestrians step out and look the opposite way so they dont see themselves getting hit !! :-)

I just saw one of these in the road today and immediately came to see what you think. I really love the look of it!

Main issue with Opel is lack and quality of dealerships.
If you are in Cape Town there are two: Bellville and Somerset West. The rest closed down.
For context, I drive an Astra K and love it, but would never buy an Opel again unless they open more branches. Bellville is "closest" to me, and as much as I wanted to use them for my next service, they had far too many negative reviews and I could never get them to answer the phone after getting to their stupid voice menu.

you are right about this automatic 6 speed gear box which is not really re defined like the 7 speed DSG like the Volkswagen

I have a 2023 Golf R DSG and a 2024 Grandland Ultimate 8 speed auto and both are very refined.

Okay, I'll say, Third... but seriously that Stellantis (Peugeot) 1.6T is tried and tested (old) - which is a good thing in terms of proven formulas and very much sufficient in this operation. Visual appeal and pricing will or should sell these...

@@scmazibuko6887 I'm not sure we'll see new astras just yet. I think it's been discontinued in our market. You can probably still get a decent 2019 second hand

These Grandlands are great value in the UK as they're an affordable auto diesel whereas Qashqai's are only available in petrol and the Tuscon's far too expensive.
Loved the vlog but as these go out globally and you have a strong accent maybe slow down the banter then our brains can compute and take more info in 🤣

I just spent two days with a diesel (1.5L) Grandland and it is a terrible vehicle. Painfully under powered, twitchy steering and not very comfortable.

A once great brand in South Africa that has gone to the dogs. The direct result of useless corporate managers. Sad. 😢

In 10 years time this Opel will still look classy and the new "bling bling" looking Kia & Hyundai of today will seriously look outdated.

700k for a opel. What are they smoking. And the new sportage really annoys me when it comes to the features that are missing for south Africa at that price it should come with everything like Kia used to do.

Your comment is also lacking in substance. You've said absolutely nothing to critique the reviews so that she can improve on them. It would have been better if you had said nothing at all.
