My own rec: Tumi backpacks. They're expensive but invincible. I've been using the same one since 2016 - it's survived an entire degree, dozens of flights, loads of outdoorsy excursions in temperatures from below -20C to over 30C, blizzards, torrential rain, use as an impromptu camera bag for a few months back when I still did real estate photography, and more trips on subways/LRTs/buses/streetcars/shinkansen/ICE trains during my daily commutes and other travels than I can count... and it still looks brand new somehow???
I have the same bag in another color and it’s been an absolute fave this past year as a work bag. Slim and can carry more than enough.
