  • In this quick and easy piano tutorial we learn the song Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver. This is the perfect lesson for a beginner piano player! Beautiful chord progression and an easy to follow rhythm pattern make this the perfect easy piano song! It does not get much easier than this!!!
We begin our lesson by learning the chords of the song. There are only five chords in this entire song, which makes it super fun and easy to play!
We then learn a rhythm pattern to use throughout the song. This is a great standard rhythm pattern that will come in handy for many other songs in 4/4 time. In this section we cover the verse and chorus of the song.
Then we go into the bridge of the song. This rounds out the parts of the song.

On first listen Aaron...you forgot to explain why you are not using the full chord triads and this novice is curious as to why as it contradicts all ive learned so far?

Great question! So you actually do use all of the chord. You are right, I forgot to draw attention to this when it happened in the video. When the left hand plays the 5th of the chord you are accomplishing the entire chord. So, it happens in the bass instead of the right hand. I hope this helps and makes sense. Thanks for watching and for your comment/question!
