  • In this video I show you how I made this five barrel stand up fishing boat. It is not super fast, but it has a ton of storage. Thank you for watching.

    Very cool! I would add foam in the outter barrels before inserting ice chests for added buoyancy incase of other boats speeding by and large wake fills them with water.

    I absolutely love this. I'm getting on this after my next paycheck. I would add one more thing to this construction: Some kind of Water impervious *Polyvinyl Chloride* Foam to make it virtually unsinkable. If those barrel pontoons take on water for any reason, the foam core will be your back-up to keeping you afloat.

    I think I need to build me one of these.. like this one here but being I am 6'2" and 260lbs I think 3 barrels on each side might be better for me ... I have a few smaller lakes that this would be so fun to take out on... rig up a fish finder like a Garmen Strike 4.. have some 10lbs anchors... could make a nice Crappie/Panfish boat

  • @samljer
    @samljer Před 15 hodinami

    This one is a keeper IMO, but 2 more barrels on the back and WIN.

    For a nose cone on these have you ever looked at coroplast, you could take a sheet and roll it up and around the bottom and then tie together at the front in a V then leave top open. Very light weight as well.
    You could fasten to the front of eash barrel with screws or rivets.

    Five coolers, an electric motor that'll spin the boat... this will likely be a twenty five year commitment to "every day after work" and "all weekend, every weekend" fun....

    I've noticed recently that many of these DIY videos are now putting up safety disclaimers telling viewers not to copy what you're building cause you're not an engineer or professional builder. How do you know if the people watching have an engineering kind of mind or not. I'm an Air Force veteran and was trained as an airframe repair specialist. We're told that we were being given a million dollar education. I used to repair, rebuild, and modify A-10's. You know, the aircraft known as "warthogs"? I can't help but feel a little insulted by these disclaimers telling me not to try and duplicate the things I see getting built. I actually do have engineering experience. And one of the most important things the military teaches is, "the mission first, safely". These words were written in five foot tall letters on one of the inner walls of the hanger that the airframe repair shop was part of. If there's one thing most important to me when it comes to working with my hands, it's safety first, always. Also, if someones sitting in their home watching you build something, how do you expect them not to be inspired by what they see you doing. Of course people might want to copy you, and if they don't know what they're doing, there's nothing you can do about it anyway. Even if they hurt themselves while trying to duplicate what you've built, again I say, there's nothing you can do about it. And all the disclaimers in the world are not going to change that fact. If someone smart copies you, then they can have fun on the water too. If someone stupid copies you, and they end up getting hurt or even worse dead, all of that stupid persons friends and family already know that they're stupid, and they are the ones who have the responsibility of stopping their stupid friend from copying what you build. Or at least I think that's the way the world should work. Just my opinion, and I'm allowed to have it.🖖😎👍
