    Just made order 1526. I'm used to having to tweak controllers for my favorite games so I think this will work out for me. Thank you for convincing me to pull the trigger!

    From what I read, sometimes you have to go into the gun calibration of the individual games for them to work. A lot of games will work great when they are calibrated. Some also require assigning the gun to the game inputs as well.

    I got mine a month ago and they really upped the quality that's why I waited on something like this cuz they have all the bugs worked out now

    Took me a day to setup. At 3 a.m. House of the Dead 4 was working FLAWLESSLY. I'll keep messing with mine until I can get the rest of the games working well. Turn off the cursors in any games you can, they almost always lag across the screen but the gun actually tends to keep up with your movement.

      @Germapino Před rokem +2

      When you say cursors, what do you mean? Do you mean the cross hairs? Thanks!

    • @gavynbrandt
      @gavynbrandt Před rokem +1

      @@Germapino Yeah I meant crosshairs that's my bad, some games it's easy to disable them but others like Overkill require a file change.

      Good tip. I tend to do that in most games unless it's something that had a cursor originally.

    Times have changed after this video. Now when you order your Sinden gun, it takes 2 to 3 weeks to ship, you don't have to wait for a finished batch to be sent out.

    what you said at 12:10 makes so much sense. if you're trying to build something for customers to buy you have to make it as user friendly as possible. On the other hand, I don't think they can outright support piracy so I also get why they don't do that but a point to a reddit post or something would help plenty

    Thx for the thoughtful review. Just what I was looking for. I will choose Sinden cause you don't have to put up ir lights around the tv. And those ir lights burns out fast if you forget to turn them off. With Sinden no light and no problems to use the gun with multiple devices. Keep up the good work 🙂

    You should look into Batocera 35. It makes this gun almost plug and play. The software is built into the front end and it's very simple. On first plug in I was playing Confidential Mission on Naomi within 3 minutes... only drawback is no Dolphin or PCSX2 support yet. As far as I know that's coming with Batocera 36.

    • @ThunderBob
      @ThunderBob  Před rokem +2

      I will definitely check that out. Appreciate the suggestion. Didn't realize it had native Sinden support.

    • @gimp521
      @gimp521 Před rokem +2

      @ThunderBob if you're not familiar it's a Linux distro front end similar to Big Box with mostly pre-configured emulators built in... I have a few old PC's (optiplex and compaq models mostly) with only that on the hard drives so they boot straight into it... so simple... one in my arcade cab, one on the man cave 65" and one for the living room just in case... lol...

      @@gimp521Really appreciate the suggestion. I played around with it last night for a few hours. I put together an image on a flash drive and booted my computer into it. I had about 150 games and 90% of them were completely plug and play after plugging in my gun.

    In regards to the shipping, they give you a tracking number if you ask, I think customer service is literally one guy since my emails were all from the same person and they were a bit delayed. My first order got lost along the way but they were kind enough to send a 2nd order for free. So I can forgive the shipping issues. Currently its on the way.

      I can understand it's a small outfit and a niche product but they should try to automate shipping notifications. Seems crazy you can have a product shipped internationally without notification or tracking.
      Still other then that I'm loving the gun. This week I got the HOTD remake working and it's so smooth with the Sinden.

    Great vid, here’s some of my thoughts.
    Tracking numbers are given upon request from customer service.
    There is a barebones image for the Pi, I don’t know why one doesn’t exist for the PC, but you could upload yours when you’re done. 😎
    It would be nice if the gun shipped with a paper. Perhaps with a link to the Sinden wiki that has all the videos and setup guides.

    The "bad" is in the ordering. I ordered it in early December and now it's mid-January and it's "barely" began leaving the UK. So, if you're willing to wait for a pretty long time, it's cool i guess. I got mine for right at $100.

    Man you sound exactly like me. I have the two recoil models and I spent a solid three days trying to get it working with my favourites like Virtual Cop 3. It's great when you have it calibrated and setup but that 3 days of messing around was a real pain. Since then i have had to reset my gaming PC and from that point it has been living in its original box for the past 4 months as the thought of having to set it up again was just too much. Might give it another try when house of the dead remake hits but really I just want them to release preconfigured builds of the main emulators so that we can just drop our ROMs in and away you go.

    Do you know if this will work with a Laser UST projector?

    • @ThunderBob
      @ThunderBob  Před 2 lety +2

      I haven't tried a projector myself but I know people have been successful. If you have a very large screen you might need to play around with the settings. Might need the thicker border and will need a bright enough picture for the camera to pick it up.

    I was thinking of getting a Sinden Light Gun. The only issue I have with it is the white border that needs to be around the periphery of the screen. Are there any tricks that you can implement to get that portion of the screen back, such as using white tape around the edge of your monitor?

    • @ThunderBob
      @ThunderBob  Před 2 lety

      There are some settings to make the box smaller and thinner depending on your setup. You can also setup borders within some emulators which prevents any overlap with the game.
      Tape might work but I haven't seen anyone try it and I'm reluctant to put tape on my screen.

    The Aimtrack is absolute garbage! Good thing you didn't go for that turd!
    The Sindin light gun I have opened the box but haven't used it yet. I will say I was very disappointed with just how cheap it felt. It is very low quality plastic, mayeb the lowest quality tier of plastic there is. I did get several emails from the company as a matter of fact after recieving the light guns I am still getting updates for shippiong times for batches after mine. I did go to their webiste and sign up for the email list so maybe that is why I got so many updates. I have the nonrecoil version.

      one of the emaisl i recently recieved you can clearly see the batch numbers being produced and as long as you know what your order number is you can get a gppd odea when your guns will arrive.

      April Update
      Hi Everyone
      After a really good 2022 with production we have had a few poor weeks in the second half of March and first half of April, we have had a few instances of Covid, some annual leave and also a couple of public holidays. The team should be back to full strength from this Tuesday (Monday is a public holiday in the UK). This has put us about 2 weeks behind on the last published schedule. We have dispatched all orders below #17000. If you don't have your tracking email please contact customer services at customerservices@sindenlightgun.com email address. Here is the latest schedule if things go smoothly:
      Week commencing 18th April #17000-17500
      Week commencing 25th April #17500-18000
      Week commencing 2nd May #18000-18500
      Week commencing 9th May Buffer Week
      Week commencing 16th May #18500-19000 (Latest Orders)
      So all orders that were due to be dispatched in May at the time of order including the latest orders are still comfortable for being dispatched in May, orders in the #17000-18000 range were supposed to be dispatched in April and still look OK to be dispatched in the last couple of weeks of April. Most of #18000-18500 was supposed to be dispatched by the end of April (a small amount were May) but unfortunately this range has slipped into the first week of May. So apologies for the extra wait on those but hopefully not too much longer.
      Please keep an eye on the weekly production updates here:

      Thank you very much to everyone that supported the new arcade pedal:
      www.sindenlightgun.com/arcadepedal/
      It looks like the interest has been enough to keep it going as a ongoing product. It's very much a niche product so that's quite cool to be able to make sure that it is always available as an option.
      So a couple of cool bits to update on. House Of The Dead - remake recently launched for the Nintendo Switch. It also works well in the Yuzu Emulator on the PC, I haven't tested the other emulators. I'm confident that we will be able to find a way to hook up lightguns to it. I need to finish off the Sinden Lightgun windows updates during the rest of this month but I'm going to try to get House Of The Dead - remake working during May. The game looks pretty good and has positive feedback except for people complaining about the controls which was always going to be the case.
      The 2nd cool thing is that I've finally got a MiSTer FPGA ordered which is due to come in the next few weeks. I'm hoping that I can get the Sinden Lightgun working directly on the device without needing a Pi in between like with the PS1/PS2 mods. It has quite a good library of lightgun games that will work, especially with the recent PS1 improvements. Like everything else there is a bit of a shortage at the moment of the main FPGA board, if you do want to get one in the future I recommend ordering direct from the manufacturer in Taiwan rather than paying inflated ebay prices.
      Thank you very much everyone for your continued support of the project.
      Andy

      Yea it feels a little cheap. I actually think it has some good detail on it and looks quite nice and the controls work well but it just feels like a toy gun because of the plastic or finish on it.
      I did get some of those emails but my device came a few weeks after the estimate. Really think for something being shipped internationally they should provide tracking or at least shipping notification.
