Married Polish and have Kam Chancellor as your fav Hawk: love it. I don't wear 'Hawks jerseys around, but I seriously considered 31. Being an older fan, may fav is still Kenny Easley. OMG. "Safety" only means our side.

Barner at Mich and Barner at Indiana were such different players. At IU he was more a receiver that I felt was a bit too soft to play for Mich. interestingly he proved to be able to be that physical blocker. To me that is promising

@@jacsonbevens3857 That's awesome man, I live in Gdansk myself, the old town is very beautiful, you'll enjoy it for sure. Fun fact for you, Gdansk,Gdynia, and Sopot is called "Trojmiasto" which translates to Tri-cities. Gdynia use to have a Football team (American football) named the Gdynia Seahawks, their logo is not nearly as impressive as our beloved Seattle Seahawks but they did indeed name their Football team Seahawks, which I found awesome. I'm not too familiar with their history, and sadly they no longer operate. Also, if you're a beer drinker I recommend and in Gdansk, Piwnica Rajcow, its right next to the iconic Neptune statue (you cant miss it) they craft their own beer and I usually stop by there for their Pizza and beer. Also, Sopot, which has it's infamous boardwalk has a nice Micro brew spot called Pinta, my favorite Polish craft beer in Sopot, and Lastly when in Sopot don't forget to take a picture with Wojtek the Bear Statue, the bear that actually was part of the WW2 Polish Army, (fascinating story).

@@jacsonbevens3857 That's awesome man, I live in Gdansk myself. You're coming at the best time to visit Poland, the weather's been pretty spectacular (At least here in Gdansk) not too hot and sunny skies. Old town is beautiful, you'll definitely love it. I know you love cigars, but if you like a nice refreshing cold brew, and you're in Old Town, I recommend Piwinica Rajcow, they make their own beers and I usually stop by their for pizza too. In Sopot, infamous for its boardwalk, I recommend stopping ar Pinta bar, for some good craft brew, and they make pretty good ribs. Also, don't forget to take a picture with "Wojtek the Bear" in Sopot, a bear who actually served in the Polish Army during WW2 (fascinating story btw). Good show! Really impressed with the people associated with the Hawks the shows brought in. Matty is always a cool listen.

Great episode to end on before a well deserved break! Thanks again for all the great content.
    Loved Matty's thoughts:
    - Bobby's way past expiration (wake me for the retirement party cake)
    - Riq's an undisciplined freak (move on to someone who understands that speed and length aren't enough)
    - Jamal cognitive dissonance (good idea - didn't work out - let it go)
Hope we can use this to let it all go and move on! On to Europe...Hope you both have great trips!

That's awesome man. I live in Gdansk myself. Hopefully the nice weather we've been having will continue when you arrive. I don't know what you and your wife's plans are when you visit, but I'm sure when you're in Gdansk you'll go to Old Town, it's beautiful you'll enjoy it. I know you love your cigars, but if you enjoy a nice cold brew, I recommend going to Piwnica Rajcow (it's right next to the iconic Neptune statue) I usually stop their for their own made beers and some Pizza. And don't forget to take a picture with the 'Wojtek the Bear" statue, the Bear who served in the Polish Army during WW2 (fascinating story). If you're a History buff (like myself) I recommend visiting Malbork Castle, the largest brick castle in the world, built by the Teutonic Knights. Fun fact for you, Gdynia use to have an American Football team named the Gdynia Seahawks, their logo was shit but I thought it was awesome they named their team after the Seattle Seahawks. Also the only two words you need to learn in Polish are Piwo (prounounced, Pee'voh) and Dziekuje (Jie'koo'yeh), Beer and Thank you 😆

Agree with all from Matty with one exception: We upgraded on D line/spine (see Brady's article re: McDonald's D philosophy and the "spine")
    - Spine stronger with Hankins, Murphy and others in the middle (also with linebackers who can all cover)
    - Williams and Murphy are difference makers
    - Year 2 and off-the-bench for Young and Morris
Apart from the "spine," Nwosu was sorely missed and expect McDonald to make better use of scheme, fit/talent like Dre'mont, and simple rotation
No longer gonna be banging our heads against the wall with Jarran being an undersized nose playing 70 snaps a game, Dre-mont miscast as a run stuffer, Bobby flailing to catch pass catchers, and Cam and others sitting on the bench - all without our best defender, Nwosu, and static coaching. Not to mention cringing with Jamal limping on the field.
No where to go but up. This D will be top half of league next year!

Howell wasn’t brought in to simply be a backup. Some of the INTs are pretty bad but the plus plays are there where you have a Qb that can make plays with legs or arm that only 3 other QBs have shown able to do consistently that’s Sam did last year, and one plays with Baltimore. Aside from that there’s a clear distance in organizations between the Hawks and Commanders.

When someone talks safety vs guard talk you can always tell who’s worked on striking/ boxing and who hasn’t. Taking on isn’t always head up taking on.

Agree with the Adams issue. But that’s lazy speak, right. If it’s not a popular narrative people don’t care. Aside from that the Adams issue is beyond that.

It’s interesting Matty contrasts Dodson as a downhill thumper, but has praise for Brooks saying top LB potential. Why do you think Brooks has suffered so many injuries? Brooks is a brick, and down hill lb playing in an era where you need to be lighter and put more torque on your joints. But even if Brooks lost weight his instincts, illustrated by the Rams and 9ers games where he just has no idea where the play is developing to and is late to fill or diagnose so can not even make the play (players) adjust to him by being in the right spot. His coverage has always been below average in zone and unfortunately he’s not quick enough to have as a mismatch on a man on man situation. Good stuff though

Besides the defensive line, specifically DT, what positions did they clearly upgrade?

    • @Richard-il6wc
      @Richard-il6wc Před 24 dny

Upgraded defensive line, offensive line, linebacker, safety, and even taking 2 auburn dbs pushes the room. So, an upgrade. Laviska Shenault upgrades the receiver room for sure. Holani gives great depth to the rb room. Howell backing Geno is a genius move. I would say the Seahawks have strengthened themselves at just about every position.
