Title : How to check if you have unsaved changes in a document
Sometimes knowing whether you have saved the changes you made to a file makes all the difference between having or losing data that you had spent months or even years searching and collecting.
No, i am not talking about the situation where you can try to exit the application/ document and you will be prompted to save the document if you have not saved it.
Because if i have saved the changes, the application/ document will just close.
And i will not have the option to undo changes by pressing Ctrl + Z.
But if only i could tell if i have saved changes without exiting the document/application.
What makes things difficult sometimes while looking for help on Google or CZcams is when you don't know the technical terms which you need to use to search for the information.
I could not find anything with the search keywords i was using.
Everything i tried to search for brought up videos on how to save a file.
If you need to check if the last changes to the document in Notepad OR GIMP are saved, just look for an "asterisk" mark to the left of the file name on the title bar of the application as i have shown in the video.
So if you don't want the changes to be saved then just exit the application without saving.
In some other applications one way to check if changes to the document are saved or not is to see if the "redo button" is greyed out.
If you are aware of any better or simple ways or less involved ways of checking if a document has unsaved changes then please drop them in the comments.
Also if you know of ways to do the same in various other applications/ softwares please comment below.
We would be glad to learn more.
Please like, share, subscribe & comment for more.
    Thank you for watching.
