      NUTRITION, indeed.
      THAT'S what the African guys lack, IMO.
      "Lifelong" (and possibly prenatal) excellent nutrition, vitamins, etc.
      It might sound discriminating, but it plays a HUGE PART in our physical
      development. And most people around the world don't get that.

    Dog walking Noah for a 9.83 was all I needed to see. That goes down as the most impressive prep showing I’ve ever seen. Would have been SO easy to let the moment be too big. Tighten up those shoulders, shorten a drive phase, etc. proves he’s mentally stable and ready- wind aid or not.
    It’s not even shocking he dipped under 20 at this point though psychologically the legal wind will be an unimaginable boost. I’d bet my lunch money for the year of his next 100m is anything close to ideal, he’s going under. He’ll be sniffing the record by end of may latest

      Idk, going to A&M for 1 year couldn't hurt. Pat Henry is a legendary coach. Plus there's something to be said about having that alumni base rooting for you for the rest of your career. I'm sure Athing Mu, Donovan Brazier, Fred Kerley, etc have all felt that support

      @@clarkhays87 You sound like an A&M fan/alumnus. The reality is the kid is already surpassing collegiate… and even pro athletes. Unless he wants to stay in college for a degree (3+ years) there is literally no reason from a developmental point of view for him to be facing collegiate athletes instead of pro athletes. He may as well get paid a proper contract and work with pro coaches and run against pro competition.

    No mention of the elevation at Lubbock or Gaborone. The elevation at both sites is equivalent to about +1 tailwind. Being in lane 8 in a 200m is also an advantage with a tailwind.

      these track athletes goin crazy lately in high school. man i remember when my old a** was in states for the 100m 25 years ago, and in my division, anyone running 10.8 to 10.4 were gonna be the ones running in the state finals. these kids nowadays would make us old guys look like we were running in mud

      Something is going on this year but Asinga is legit because he's ran multiple 10.05 and under plus multiple 20.11 or under. He's been cranking them out. Everyone has been going bananas this year

      This kid was running 10.9s to open the season last year. He ran a 10.67 and 21.95 in his state championship 10.5 months ago. I don't know how he got this much ground. It's unheard of.

      Why? Both can be true. A strong tailwind is anything around 2m/s maybe even 1.5m/s but the legal limit of 2.0 can be slightly passed by

      @@chuckdeuces911 Because that would mean the rules allow for a strong tailwind, since you are defining strong as 2m/s. When in actuality, the 2m/s was chosen because its not considered a wind velocity high enough to unfairly aid the runner. So.0.6 is just slightly over what is considered a wind velocity that has no impact on the runners. Therefore, 2.6 can not be a strong tailwind when its only 0.6 ms/ over the no-impact tailwind.

    Why does this channel keeps ignoring the effect of the new shoes? All the historical comparisons are flawed when ignoring the (at least) 2 tenth of a second that should be added to current 200m results when comparing them to older results.
    Instead, this channel tediously employs hollow superlatives such as "amazing", "unbelievable", "insane", "mind blowing", "jaw dropping", etc.

      It baffles me that people still thing “springs” in shoes does anything at all. No spring of any spring coefficient are better at distributing the force produced by the human body than our feet already are. A stiff spring would do nothing and a loose spring would make your ground contact time even greater, hence worse, even if you could load more energy into it.

    I mean, as far as it being a one-off, Divine ran his 19.73 (from a previous best of 20.13) and then only managed 19.88 two years later. And then he was banned.
