I hate to say this but there's gonna be a day where you will want an area for business and an area for relaxing. I am starting to deal with that issue now and I have half the size of the room as you do. I have no room for my own merch or packing. Barely any room for traditional art things. Tight squeeze for the computer. The way you had it at the old place you set yourself boundaries where your room is a whole separate area from the art area. Even though it's fine now, you are going to get burnt out or stressed because you are living breathing in that room.
Yes, I’m in the same situation! Bedroom is also my art studio/office. It’s a struggle to keep work & sleep areas separate & tidy. Granted I need to do a declutter but ideally a separate space would be fantastic.

Hi all. I think her before apartment was lots BETTER...She went from uniqueness to crowded...gee if it was me I would have found myself a house or lots bigger apartment. I think unless you are married you should live and have your private personal place...because it gives you freedom space and a life to do as you want???...

I've been getting a lot of packing vlogs on my feed in the past few days, and it gives me a lot of hope for my shop! I dropped out of college and started on Etsy all at the beginning of the pandemic, and it's unfortunately but not surprisingly going fairly slowly! I'm hoping to get to the point where I can spend a whole week nonstop packing orders!

@@barbvan960 I'd like to eventually switch to Shopify, but Shopify has a subscription based store owning system, so you have to pay to keep your store open! As of right now, I don't get enough orders consistently to not have to worry about that! But thank you for the suggestion!

Love your stuff as usual!! I will say it maybe best to find a studio outside your house-sometimes I use my fiancé and my house as a distraction from work, other times I use it to my advantage. All I know is I work in my office 3-4 days a week and the rest at my house snd that balance has created a great routine and also kept my inspiration up (and it’s not Boring because it’s a new experience every day). Good luck with everything!! I missed your store drop but next time I need to be quicker!! Congratulations on all your orders! Amazing work

What I like most about your videos is that they are very calming, but also motivational. It's a lovely combination.
I love your videos! I have my own little shop, and I usually pack about 10 orders per day. I know how hard it is to worry about wanting to get your orders out quickly- so I have also learned that most people are totally understanding about how long it takes us artists and small businesses since we aren’t big companies. Also, its important to remember that even big companies sometimes take a few weeks to get your order to you.
Ultimately you have to find a routine that is the easiest for you, even if it means making some big changes to your current processes. I think your audience will understand especially because we get such an intimate look into your process, and its obvious how hard you work !
Also, I like to watch anime when I’m packing orders- it slows the process down, but at the same time it makes it seem like it goes by faster- I always put on something that I love and have watched many times so that way I don’t have to pay too close attention

I often use my bed as a flat work surface. I have a fold-out sewing cutting board, (or you could get a piece of plywood), but usually if I make the bed smoothly :) it's plenty flat enough for things like sorting piles of paper, similar to what you're doing.

If this is supposed to be a work/live housing situation, you should be able to utilize some common areas for order packing and some inventory storage, and your housemates should understand that this is a part of your business. Maybe you pay an extra $100 and take over a closet on the main level for inventory.

genuine question: since you're shipping so many items out at once, why don't you schedule for package pickup so that you don't have to worry about lugging all the packages to usps yourself?
Use your communal space!!! I’m sure they will be fine with you taking a space during shop updates so you can work properly. There was an video before then they asked if you wanted to be in the office space they use, so it doesn’t seem like they would be angry if you’re using space for packaging!!

Just found this video today. I enjoyed it! You should consider investing in a Murphy bed with a fold down table on the bottom. Also, you should utilize one of your closets for your business instead of a shelf in the room. Just some suggestions. ❤️

Traveling and working remotely is something I wish I could’ve done. Do it! I’m now almost 58 and I’m an artist but I’ve tried for 25 years to sell online. I’ve sold a good amount but not enough to sustain me. Now I want to travel and I know it isn’t gonna happen often. Don’t wait.

It was pretty hot a couple weeks ago. Luckily its been cooling down. 😭 Also, I’m very interested in how you run a small business properly. I had one at one point, but it felt like I was spending more than I was making. I don’t know which proper websites to use to make prints, stickers, thank you/info cards/special envelopes, where to buy in bulk, which label printer is the best, and how much I should save up to buy all of the necessary materials…

You definitely need an office, as a viewer I even feel suffocate and anxiety seeing your room, coz it's remind you about works stuff while room supposed to make you feel rest and heal.. Your boarding house are so big, is there is no free space that you can use for office stuff?
