One of the best outcomes is having domestic and international under the one roof for those with connecting flights. Mascot the terminals are 7 kilometers apart and connect by one of the most congested roads Sydney has, creating nightmares for travellers.

That is a fair point. Something I haven't considered before

There is a train connecting them both which avoids road traffic. I agree that it is good to have international and domestic connected.

Surely there will be more terminals right? That looks tiny... like a regional airport of sorts

More will come when stage two is built.

Yes there is plans for an extension and 2nd runway around 2050

Ikr! Even to cater for only 10mill passengers, it’s still tiny with only 20 gates. 2050 seems so far away. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be like Avalon

With the location of this as well as been served by a metro line here is to hoping it is more successful than Avalon

Looks pretty utilitarian - not going for any design awards with this one from a first look.

It`s been built for a price paid for with tax payers monies . Renovation improvements can take place when it generates it`s own profits I think the first renovations will be multi story car parking. Mascot generates a billion dollars a year from it`s car parks.

Yes a simple but practical design. Built to serve a purpose

Yes, a disappointing pedestrian design. I believe it originally was supposed to be mainly for freight to take the pressure off Kingsford Smith Airport.
I suspect the planners underestimated the demand for a curfew free passenger airport.
