    My previous and first car had different light bulbs for the highs... So I recently bought an Audi... I was really amazed by the fact that when I turned on the high beams you could tell that there was no transition between the highs and the lows and it seemed as if it came from the same source. I thought about it and I had a feeling of how it worked. But now I know exactly.

    Not all aftermarket headlights with projectors include projectors with high beam solenoids in them. There are some headlights which feature both a low beam static projector and a dedicated high beam projector such as those for F150s. Cheapo brands will generally include cheap halogen projectors without solenoids in those units. Sometimes they use projectors which conform to known Bi-xenon mounting dimensions which makes for an easier replacement with actual high quality bi-xenon or bi-led projectors.

    • @oliknow
      @oliknow Před rokem

      which is good. The Projectors with both functions are usually a compromise between both. I had the oppurtunity to see that myself. I had a low beam only H7 Projector from Hella and a Bi-Halogen Projector from Hella, both variants were new and from the E55 line with exact same dimensions and all. First of all the whole reflector is differently shaped, allowing the low beam only prjector to use much more of the available light in the low beam than the Bi Projector. In the Bi Projector it was very clear that much light was focused in the center to also have a kind of ok high beam. the low beam was also very focused in the Bi Projector compared to the more evenly spread out low beam on the other projector.
      I know this might be not as "cool" but single beam projectors are better at what they do than the compromise Bi Prjectors which do both but non as good.

    Hello Headlight Revolution !
    I have a question regarding the Bi-LED lightsource bulb for my BMW F30 2015 Bi-Xenon headlight model. Can you please specifically tell me what LED lighsource I can use, so that it's powerfull enough and at the same time does not damage the light reflective coating inside the OEM headamps ?
    The fear I have about this is that I have used some old canbus LED for the position lights on my old Golf V and after a while I saw they were too powerfull and the heat dissipation generated by the 4 sided LED SMD's, damaged the reflective coating above the position lights (above the two led bulbs).
    I cannot wait for that Bi- LED pure white light !

      I realise you asked this 2 years ago, but I'm surprised no-one has mentioned this. Chances are it is not your bulbs at fault here and in all probability even the best bulbs may not help. The problem is with the reflector degrading (or even burning) with use. Typical OE quality projector reflectors are rated for 5000hrs use. Many (especially those made with pressed steel) do not even manage this. The best lasting projectors are made of cast material to absorb and disperse the heat.
      I did an explanation here czcams.com/video/esmq5CezzWk/video.html I hope HR don't mind me blowing my own trumpet.
      So you need to replace the projectors - if your car has removable projectors that is (many do not).
