Man that is one nice tune , a little different than others. I can tell you really put a lot into these videos. Great job
i bought a tele from firefly just a few weeks ago. roasted maple neck, nice piece of rosewood for the board, bone nut, locking tuners, stainless frets. for $149, it's a fantastic guitar. was it perfect? no. however, i will list the negatives, so you can see that ALL of them were small potatoes: string ferrules needed to be glued in. slight truss rod adjustment, correct the nut slots, changed the output jack, opened the holes through the body that the neck screws pass through. also, basic set up. see what i mean? none of those things were a big deal at all. now it plays and sounds and looks like a guitar that cost 4x's what it did. you realize that i'm only talking about 2 hrs of work at my kitchen table, and less than $20 in parts, including new strings. i watched people talk about how good these firefly guitars are for quite a long time before i actually bought one. i am blown away by how much bang-for-your-buck i got with this tele.
For newbies like me could you reference a video/guide or make one for this guitar so that I can perform the cheap upgrades?
Although I'm in Canada and can’t order from their website, I love Firefly guitars, I own 5 of their FFSP line, 4 elite “bats” with the bat inlays (2 yellow, 1 orange, 1 purple), and a classic in natural birds eye maple. I hope they start shipping to Canada soon!!
I have the black one from the first run they did and I work from home and everyday bring a different guitar to mess around with during the day, and today I’ve literally been playing mine! After a year or so of having it, it still holds up. Awesome video and jam!

Beautiful guitar at an awesome price. The head stock looks like the one on the '80s Aria Pro II RS. I kinda like it. Nostalgic.
I keep requesting Firebird Music/Firefly to make a Charvel-style guitar in radical 1980's florescent colors but nothing, yet. They did use my recommendation for the holographic flake finishes though 🤷♂️ I bought their silver holographic flake HH Tele w/ the 2-point trem and I love it.

I love the headstock; it says, Hey, I am a Firefly. That guitar is great. I got one on a Christmas sale for like 139. It did have some blemishes but it gave it character. The setup was great and super playable, which really counts. I want to give a nod to the folks who actually make these things. You questioned how they could still make a profit. Well, I think those folks have a lot to do with it. I have a 338, this one, a tele and just bought a Floyd Rose LP all of them were great I am sure the LP will be too. Another brand to look out for is Mitchell; they too have some affordable Bangers. You can find them for under 200 bucks on sale and get the same quality
been working on it and I am able to play along with your jam..85% perfect I'll keep replaying jam until I nail it down thanks for the inspiration seriously..

Snatched up a tele style Firefly on Black Friday for $139. It’s also up to the same standard. Don’t know how they can do it for so little money. Shred on fellow bald shred dude.
I have always used the bar on a non-locking bridge to tune the guitar and it always stayed in tune.
Get it just a little flat and hit the bar and it will sharpen into tune. You'll be spot on every time after you get the hang.
Looks nice! That song is EPIC!! You need a place to upload all these demo song recordings so we can just listen to the music anytime. Like a SoundCloud or a separate CZcams for just your music. 😉 👍🏻

You should do a guitar solo where you switch back and forth between bridge and neck pickups to give the impression there are two guitarists battling it out. 🙂
I got my first Firefly 5+ years ago. I've gotten 3 more this year & they are exponentially better than those early models. The action & fretwork has been amazing on all of mine

You have some good jams on your reviews. Can’t wait until I get my Super FFST. A couple years ago I had a FFLP with 3 humbuckers, but the nut wasn’t right and you could hear some of the notes were out on a couple strings. I didn’t care for the pickups as well. These sound decent though! Rock on!

Hey, if you want to use that 2 point trem and not worry about it going out of tune, get some Wilkinson locking saddles for it. They sell them on their website. Pete Thorn uses them on his Suhr guitar and so do I on my Jackson. They are a little expensive for saddles but they are definitely worth it. Cool intro song!

That neck and fretwork on those FFST's are phenomenal! Better than any sub $1000 Strat copy I've ever played. It actually has a better neck than my American Standard Strat. Yeah, really!
Are frets on the larger vs smaller side?

I haven't had the best luck with Firefly. Both the LP and SG I bought needed a bit of work. Both had horrible grounds it seems like the ground wire they used is coated and no one cleaned the coating off the wires before soldering so the grounds were weak both have the same issue with the bridge posts being shimmed and both also had finish flaws but that I can live with. Of course for the price small issue like this do not really piss me off because I can easily address them. For the poor guy who is looking for a budget guitar that plays decent out of the box might be disappointed.
If you stretch the strings properly it will stay in tune. Just like any other guitar locking or nonlocking before practice or play or session you will have to retune it just like any other guitar but if you stretch the strings it will stay in tune

The guitar is great! I bought the same color then seen the black which is 169. I sent a email informing them of my error. I received a quick response saying they'd send the black. I received it today. I dont know how they do it. It sounds great although a couple frets are high. The nut is a little off and the g b and e are slotted a little deep. After stretching the strings its staying in tune. The bridge i need to block. I havent measured the neck it seems a little wide. You wont find a better guitar for the price
That’s a great looking fiddle. The tuners and bridge are probably 50 dollars themselves. I agree that headstock isn’t great. 6 screw trems if you use PRS style notched screws and deck them to dive only can be pretty reliable with locking tuners and good slippery nut slots.

I checked guitargarden, and I believe they COULD do a 24 fret out of the San Dimas clone, besides the one you have there! I am close to payday and needing a guitar to tune down to D standard, and I have so many options that I have a hard time deciding!

I want a cross between this guitar and the Leo Jaymz Monsoon. I want the 24 XJ frets and hardtail bridge of the Monsoon but the roasted maple, spoke wheel, locking tuners and stainless frets of the Super FFST.

I got one of the relic strats the ssh guitar in white. Amazing guitar for 200 bucks. I had only 1 issue and firefly compensated me for it (The tuners were not good I think they sand blast them to relic them and it damages them). The pickups on the other hand are really good and sounded fantastic when I played it out at a gig this weekend.
put on a roller bridge saddles with roller trees, and wont go out of tune. I have a cheap $200 Gio with roller everything, and I got it floating big time, and my friend who can play loves my Gio, and does dips, bends, whammys and tries his best to get my guitar out of tune and cannot. I can pick it up right now and at most 2 cents out.....gonna go check it right now for fun.........E AND A were 4 cents out, all the rest still minty.
The headstock is almost identical to the John Page Classic Ashburn 😉

If you don’t like the Firefly headstock shape, then check out the new “Classic Series” FFTL models, which have deleted the comfort cuts and added a flame maple neck with a more Fender-like headstock shape!

That piece you were playing sounded amazing I loved it and I don't know why they can make good quality guitars and sell them for next to nothing look what Gibson charges?
So I bought one, Just gave it a test run, and I think the manufacturer knows you do reviews,,,,mine needs nut work, the action is too high. The trem is pretty much unusable, the arm is loose no matter how much I tighten the set screw. So the trem will need a block or replaced. I will update after I do the setup.

Nice looking and sounding guitar, but I'm getting a little bored with HH coil-split guitars. I'd much rather see something like an HS 80s style (EVH or at least wild colors) because that would at least be different. Or even humbucker and P90 or twin P90. Just something unique in the budget realm.
I'd like to see one of these companies come out with a H/S super strat.

I have a whole pile of Fireflies and this is the only one I hate. I ordered the one in black matte and they sent me that turd that you have in your hands there. The coil split was wired backwards, so the knob has to be up for humbucking. While I had it apart, I swapped out those pickups because they’re dog shit even if they can split, got rid of the tone, and taped it off and gave it a rattle can paint job. Now it’s sitting in a gig bag of shame in the closet and I still hate it. The headstock shape also sucks. While the tremolo has a big block, it doesn’t stay in tune so I wish it had a hardtail. The locking tuners are nice, but it’s like putting spinning hubcaps on an old Monte Carlo… It’s still just a big piece of crap. I love your videos though keep it up!
Being your friend/follow/fellow baldy doesn't help much with my G.A.S. I am so confused on which one to get, this one I ADORED, but also the Fesley bunch! Which would you rather honestly? 22 frets and up
The Leo Jaymz Monsoon is my first choice.
