Safi jiva ended up being one of my favorite monsters
I just live the concept of alien star fetus absorbing the energy of elder dragons and turning into one of the most traditional looking dragons aside from fatalis
I appreciate the idea but god the reveal trailer gave us so much cooler a design, with the constellations on the wings in this glowing dark cave.
Actually fighting safi, you only get to experience *something* like this in the supercritical stage. Otherwise, visually its a really dull fight. Fatalis leans heavily on its exaggerated proportions and the epic setting of schrade.
@@cicadeus7741visually dull fight? Pretty much every one of Safi'jiiva's attacks uproot the earth beneath him with explosive energy. Not to mention his ult wich is literally the flashiest attack in the game.
I can agree that area's 1 and 2 are pretty bland cave arenas but other than that i can't see the fight being dull
@@cicadeus7741While I disagree somewhat with the visual aspect of Safi. I do agree it’s right was somewhat lacklustre compared to Fatalis. Idk maybe that’s nostalgia talking but when fighting Safi I never really feel all that “unsafe” and when it goes for Sapphire Emperor (I think it’s called) I don’t get the same sense of panic like I do with Fatalis’ nova. Plus Castle and weather really played into the atmosphere of the fight. Safi’s was just sorta’ a really deep multi-layered hole.
@cicadeus7741 he still has constellations on his wings in the final game and he does turn sort of black and green in the final stage.
I do somewhat wish that his design was just a bit less boring. Maybe just a permanent dash of blue on his chest and wings, maybe his horns should be transparent and glow when he lets off a blast of energy. Or fully black and green to be more like the other black dragons.
His design can be somewhat boring at times before he starts letting off more attacks. Yes, thet went with the real dragon thing that Fatalis has, but Fatalis is still never a boring design, nor could he be confused for another game.
I’m just wondering if in the future he’ll metamorphosed to a more alien appearance for a third stage metamorphosis
Like the veil is pulled back. He’s done disguising himself. Show his true nature

Correction: Gen 1 is crimson fatalis. Gen 4 is up for debate between it's "black dragon"(Gogzmazios) and shah dalamadur.
For gen 1, yes I agree it's Crimson. For gen 4 Shah Dala ain't even a debate. Gogmazios is way smaller and has much less physical strength, possibly less firepower as well. Shah can passively crush mountains with his strength and size, which is an incredible feat that puts him way above gog.

Safijiva is such a fun fight with a full lobby all doing it. The battle theme is good too!
Gen 5 being Xeno and not Behemoth (Extreme) is wild.
I personally have more trouble against Fatalis than Safi jiiva, then again the fight is segmented and takes mutiple people/tries to kill (unless a 999 master rank hunter joins in, then its a speedrun)
True
Regular Fatalis already wiped out an entire kingdom and considered powerful to the other black dragon. Crimson Fatalis is just an angry Fatalis that can destroy anything on his way. Then came White fatalis that can destroy humanity. Basically the reason i'm always voting Fatalis because that when he doesn't reach his full potential yet, he's already powerful that can rival anyone.
Crimson is a Fatalis that lives in volcanic areas. White is just a very old one.
What makes Safi easier than Fatalis is the damage rollover, without that than DAAAYUM.
Safi jiva is known as the sky cutter in some lore because it can focus its breath blast so thin it could pierce the sky clearing the sky of cloud maybe even reaching into orbit
Kinda wished we'll have more info for Dire Miralis, except for the fact it's a living apocalypse
The OG Black Dragon trio are supposed to be the most mysterious and secret monsters in the entire series. So I guess the fact that we know almost nothing abt them is a part of their charm
The most powerful beings in MH are the hunters, palicos and palamutes both lore wise and game wise period, it was confirmed by the developers and players.
Basically the definition of plot armor lmao
Bro headphone users are in heaven rn
The three Fatalis are the most dangerous Elder Dragons so far in Monster Hunter lore when it comes to sheer power and might.
When White Fatalis was young he was one of the biggest reasons the Ancient Civilization fell during the war between Humanity and Elder Dragons. The Ancient Civilization was once renowned as strong, powerful, extremely populated by people, beastriders, tamed Wyverns and beasts alike, some even having the combination of beast and machine.
On a lore point of view, gen 5 is still Fatalis. If u take only New monsters in consideration, it's Safi tho, yeah
On a lore point of view you're wrong. Safi is literally stated by developers to be a "rival"
@@blackirontarkus8700 I said "if you take only new monsters" which means "if Fatalis doesn't count for Iceborne"... Please take time to read before correcting, thank you ^^
@@bazelgeuse2474What he said was that even if fatalis was a candidate for gen 5 he still wouldnt necessarily win. Safi is stated to be equal to fatalis in power by the developers.
If we weren't taking new monsters only then white fatalis would win gen 4 as it is the final event quest there for max special rank. It's meant to be the generation they were added.
@@t0q14s9they never said in power they said it was designed to be similar to Fatalis not its power, and then say Alatreon went there to take it out, if Safi was actually Fatty level, Alatreon would run from it the same way Alatreon ran away from Fatalis, Safi is meant to reflect Fatalis' design both being classic dragons with 4 horns but Safi being around or slightly below Alatreon in power
No matter how OP you become, even after farming endgame bosses by yourself. You’ll still lose a little yellow toad boi
I read the lore book (capcom official) and other sources, turns out safi actually is a rival to fatalis. Capcom dis write it was DESIGNED TO be a rival of fatalis. This means safi was made to be fatalis' rival, not a concept. And the reason for alatreon's arrival in the new world was to kill of safijiiva's offspring due to if xeno was let to grow it will be a threat to alatreon's life. This concludes Safijiiva to hold the title of the most powerful monster in iceborne.
For gen 1 we have to remember that crimson fatalis was in mhg. For 3rd generation I would say dire instead but other then crimson and dire this list is very accurate.
Gen 2 baby. Psp days good times

Yes it is
I need to see a turf war between Fatalis and Safi.
Nothing is more dangerous than lore fatalis. Except maybe Safi
you got a point
Black fatalis (mhw) was much harder than Safi imo
Exactly. Safi wasn't hard at all. Fatalis and Alatreon another level, however feasible.
I don't think it's about how hard the fight was, more like how strong the monsters are and tbh Safi lore wise is of equal power to fatalis
except that the video is still correct, fatalis is still a gen 1 monster despite his massively reworked fight.
@@Tonino_lcEX Deviants are the hardest 4th gen fights. But this video considers lore, not gameplay.
@@Vayne_Solidor And also if we count the lore... Safi can be considered as a rival of Fatalis, but in my opinion in a hypothetical fight between MHW's Safi Jiva and Fatalis... Fatalis would break Safi very badly. But even an Alatreon in my opinion would have the better on Safi, with a little more effort, of course. The Safi is the scarcest of all the black dragons, because he is simply too young. If in the future there will be another evolution of Safi, we could talk about it again... But currently Safi, in my opinion, loses against all Fatalis and Disufiroa for sure, maybe he plays well against Alatreon, but as I said, Alatreon wins in my opinion.

Ruiner went to face Shara alone and would have done so; but your hunter interrupted.
Ruiner Nerg is stated to be the strongest in the Natural New world ecosystem. Excluding Alatreon, Safi Fatalis etc. because they are considered supernatural.
This also pretty much confirms Fatalis=Safi>Alatreon>~Ruiner Nerg>Everything else.
@@HunDev_PL I don't think so. Because if you recall Nergigante was hunting shara before we came to the island. Shara was hiding until we beat nergigante. He buried nergigante thinking it was dead but little did he know he was only regenerating.

Fatalis is one of those creatures that is powerful because it narrowed its powers to a lazer focus. You look at how a lot of elder dragons are like and you realize they have a pretty diverse set of powers. They can be very versitle with what they got and with experience rise to godlike power. Fatalis is all about that flame. That bugger is just so heavily specced into it that even others fire based elders can be burned. Even other black dragons don't like being around a Fatalis. Event Gogmazios in MH4U from the quest Bombs Over Gogmazios was the hardest monster i have ever fought, hardest boss fight i ever had the miserable luck to meet. For those who dont know, regular gogmazios becomes permanently enraged in phase 2 and he becomes much much more dangerous, thats when proof of a hero kicks in. The event quest has Gogmazios in that state by default with a lot more HP.
After trying again and again for at least 3 hours a day for over a good week i finally had a perfect run which was absolutely needed to take it down playing solo, at least for me.
With a fairly optimized set and playstyle took me almost all of the time available to beat, the clock had only 4 minutes left.
It was a run that i couldnt affort to faint, with one it was probably doable but losing the meal bonuses was a big difference, 2 faints was a reset as i would lose too much time to recover and get in the flow of his attacks. a battle that took 46 minutes of intense time bending focus that left me depleted for the entire day. I didnt even think it was possible to solo, there is no information online about how much health the monster has.
I need to get back in and try to beat shah dalamadur, and maybe some fatalis variants but im on abreak from the game, for about a year already.
It is a titanic journey to even get the equipment needed for an acceptable attempt.
Fatalis and Alatreon in Iceborne were a complete absolute joke compared to that Gogmazios.
Id like to know if anyone here did that quest solo
Safi is so freakin cool. My favorite monster followed closely by zinogre lol
Fun Fact: The lore book directly was talking about the design of the fight. As in, they compared safis seige to MH1's fatalis's hunt which was multiple staged to where you had to repeatedly repel fatalis until the 6th attempt which allowed you to kill him due to his HP pool. Safi in other aspects isnt actually on fatalis's level. At most hes alatreon level of power which is still impressive but people over hype the hell out of him
If he is that strong then Gaismagorm is a literal god sense its directly state he actually gets stronger the more energy he obtains from the qurio while safi doesnt actually get stronger, he just refills his power supply and heals when he drains the level of energy.
People really should understand safi isnt a god when something more impressive is sitting in the depths of sunbreak
The thing to understand about what could be considered a God in mh is how much influence they carry. Safi Jiiva, by all rights, would be considered a god by virtue of the devouring elder dragons feeding on their life energy and weaponizing it. But that's not enough because Safi is able to physically shape entire ecosystems to fit its needs, thereby affecting millions of species across the new world and potentially can effortlessly destroy it, would make it a God. The fact that beast is roughly the size of an Akantor would have it worshipped as a God. Gaizmagorm would be considered a God for its destructive potential. Alatreon is revered as one who make God's tremble according to lore.
@@BlackRaptor77 That is true, but i still consider safi as the weakest first class danger list creature besides Merphistophelin (and if capcom actually decided to add this to the list as well then as weak along side Allmother narwa, reason why im considering her is due to her seemingly endless supply of stamina and energy. She doesnt slow down at all unless she just unenrages. She does actually do the drool thing like other elders do) while the others like Disufiroa and the blakc dragon trio are beyond the theoretical god level of giving fear.
Gaismagorm if he was placed in the first class danger list id say he would be just as dangerous as disufiroa purely due to his ability to actually grow stronger. That part is the scariest thing sense hes a pure raw damage monster while disufiroa is a pure elemental danger akin to alatreon.

Yeah fair
Gen 3 and 4 can either be Dire Miralis and Gogmazios. I do wanna add Ahtal-Ka, I think that would be an interesting argument..
I wouldn’t expect a monster hunter vid to get this much attention, it’s a good thing tho
I mean, depending on how you measure strength, the magalas were divine calamities and narwa+Ibushi could posses people and speak
Woah woah hold on, alatreon? Respect Dire Miralis.
Dire Miralis who is one of the few Black Dragons and who can sink islands and boil oceans is unfortunately competing with Alatreon for strongest monster on the third generation. I hope to see it back one day.
Great izuchi has left the chat
Bloodbath Diablos laughing in the corner
Dalamadur negs bloodbath lmao
@@Doomguyhunter1Lore-wise, yes. Gameplay-wise, no.
Let' s wait to see wich will be the strongest monster of the 6th generation with Wilds
Bulldrome was a menace
Fatalis, fatalis, alateon, shah dalmadur, fatalis
