You can stay the night at Osorezan at the temple. Amazing experience. I hope I get the chance to go back again. One of my most favourite places in Japan.
Love it. I went there back in 2015 thanks to the guidance of your website! Even back then it was so easy to navigate to Osorezan by public transport. I was there in May just before the Golden week so it was pretty busy place. The train ride was so rewarding as the fields were golden with canola flowers. Also the monks were so welcoming and spoke perfect English! Highly recomend but only for adults. Don't bring any children there. It's very sacred place. I'm planning to stay overnight there again in near future for sure.
A footnote about driving. Only 1949 Geneva Convention countries can rent cars. Belgium, France, Germany, Monaco, Switzerland, and Taiwan holders can as well but will have to translate their licenses. Other than that, an International Driving Permit is required.
As of 2023, Japan also made a deal with some US states, such as Oregon where I'm from, where Japan recognizes our state licenses, and the state recognizes a Japanese license (so no international driver license needed)!
Beautiful, original, nicely filmed, Thanks ! Please continue.
Thank you so much for watching!!

Great video! Thank you for this! I hope you continue to cover the less explored, off-the-beaten-path destinations in Japan!
Thanks a lot!! I'm sure there will be more off the beaten path videos in the future !
Wondering why yours, is the only content on that region. Congratulations!
Wow! What a gorgeous video! Thank you very much
Peace from Tochigi

Absolutely amazing scenery. Wish I could go there. Sadly no credit card to hire a car.

Hi @japan-guide, wIll this area be great to travel during the winter season?
I was planning to go, but the sacred mountain is closed in winter :(

How far apart is Sai from Hotokegaura? If one takes the sightseeing cruise having parked at Sai, is it possible to walk back to it?
It is 24 kilometers along a road without sidewalk and lots of up and down.
@@japanguide Gulp! Thanks for sharing. That option is out then
You're mispronouncing the names of places. Just sayin'.
