  • This is a Carpenters International Training Fund video presenting the crafts working on the jobsites. This video is a great description of what type of work the crafts perform in the construction industry.

I did my apprenticeship around 2000 in Las Vegas. I worked in the union hall for almost 8 yrs and I made good money and learned more than I ever realized. Life took me to a small city in Oklahoma where I am now the construction carpenter for the city of enid. I do all aspects of construction now everything from building solid walnut show cases for city all to the other end of construction where I do whole city blocks doing all new storm drains and all the concrete work. I am in charge of all the layout and working close with engineering and management to get all the projects done for the community in a timely fashion and most of all on budget. I came from a family of union carpenters so I always knew I would do something in the trade but because of the jatc I can do everything in the trade. So to all of the sisters and brothers in the hall thank you for the learning experience

Found a local steel working shop down the street from me but I can't find a carpentry one. I've found one BUT I don't know if it's still open.
