    In this video I fire up the PK yet again for some steak! Specifically I cook up 2 giant cowboy ribeye steaks! I do about a 5-6 hour salt brine on the steak and use the Steak & Brisket Rub and Grilling Addiction rub from Butcher BBQ. The coal I use in the PK is a combination of B and B Oak Briquettes and
    Blues Hog Lump Charcoal and 1 little chunk of hickory. All of these ingredients put together made for a pretty dang good steak and I'll for sure be using this combo again! I also used my trusty grill grates for some cross hatch marks because when it comes to steak that is my preferred method! Thanks for watching and see you all in the next video!

    Epic video and timely for me. I’m in Michigan and have a brand new, assembled over a month ago PK 360 sitting in my garage waiting to have its first cook when itwarms up. It’s been years since I’ve cooked on charcoal. So you used briquettes in once lit, topped it off with lump?
    Also, did you rinse off the steaks after the brine or no?

    • @MadHorseBBQ
      @MadHorseBBQ  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks man! And yep that’s how I typically set up my charcoal. And I do not rinse the steaks after the brine. If you go HAM with the coarse salt I’d recommend rinsing but with a light salt brine there’s no need to rinse.

    Doesn't anybody know how to make a steak well done? There are a lot of people out there that don't like their steaks to have red or pink in the middle but fully cooked. The potential to get salmonella if not fully cooked is there.😾
