    Unusual combo with that 409. About 40-45 years ago my aunt's next door neighbor had a 409 powered Henry J.

    Thank you for the video, the car is very nice and definitely show worthy, the video was well made and the car made music for me. The tour was scenic, what a nice community, wife at the shore... your too modest, you've got it made. Best Wishes, Joe F.

    I enjoyed this video. Appreciate walk arounds w/out music and just info on the build. How the 409 fenderwell headers were concocted was good to know & interior tin work looks real nice.

      @jc-garage  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! Trying to build the car on a budget, the BBC trifive fenderwell headers were the cheapest we could find. Then we just kept our fingers crossed we could make them work without too much hassle.

    You guys did a great job, like you said basic but very clean work and the 409 looks perfect in the bay. Definitely looks like what would appear back in the 60's at the track...very cool! Wouldn't mind tooling around in that thing, I think it would be a real kick!👍👍👍

  • @jakespeed63
    @jakespeed63 Před 3 lety

    Super sanitary build!!! the yellow windows make the car. Looks exactly like something a talented person, in the early 60's ,would have screwed together. Great attention to detail and good job saving some of the original car.
    Wish you where closer. Nice and warm down here in late October. Drag it down. My crowd would go crazy for this. Florida Dragstrip Riot

    • @jc-garage
      @jc-garage  Před 3 lety

      Thanks. Yeah, it's pretty tight. The only thing that really makes noise is the trunk lid if you're on a real bumpy road. The original weather strip has shrunk down quite a bit and it no longer seals well, and the striker and latch are a little worn out so it'll bang around a bit.

      Thanks! A pro street Metropolitan...... do the tires touch in the back? Ha

    • @Tj-nash
      @Tj-nash Před 3 lety

      No! Body sits on roll cage. Rear tub with 9” rear end with 1 1/2” space between tire sidewall and metropolitan body fender. If I ever wanted to put airbags to drop the car to the ground. The top of the tires still will not touch the fender wells.

    Why didn't you do something which would really cause a panic at a cruze night.. pur some 426 HEMI or a hogged out BBC in the REAR SEAT and do mini or not so mini wheelstands. Or...set the present engine back like 2 feet and you set the car up where you drive from the back seat!! Hint: there WERE cars set up that way which drove around with plates on the streets of several LA County towns in the mid 60's when I was out there. Anyway, I just thought I'd do some imaginerring, many congrats on your nice car it Really sturs my many happy memories of a great era in street rods....
