He checked for codes, hours, combustions tests etc….truck only had 7,000 hours with 151,000 miles…..checked brakes suspension etc….checked out pretty good…gotta do brake pads and shocks tho. NO mech would install them like that lol. Hammer tap U-Bolts/Huck Bolts for breakage.. and top main coolant into therm housing! By that I meant 90% of our trucks went close to 500,000 with little to moderate repairs.
    The occasional engine light usually a simple sensor (inlet or outlet NOx sometimes a pressure sensor )once ina while needed DPFS.
    Inspections tires brakes ocational wheel seal .
    Most one boxes on our fleet start shutting the bees around 550,000 on average

    • @edmunger5595
      @edmunger5595 Před 10 měsíci +1

      Have You ever done oil sampling because I ran Delvac for decades and it starts to lose it's viscosity at about 12,000 miles, Rotella loses it's viscosity about 8,000 miles.

  • @edmunger5595
    @edmunger5595 Před 10 měsíci +1

    Maintenance, Maintenance and more Maintenance, don't be afraid to do oil changes and don't go by what the manufacturers say, don't be afraid to send oil samples to check viscosity, I have personally always ran Mobile Delvac since I learned that it runs the longest of the truck oils shy of going synthetic and even Delvac starts losing viscosity at 12,000 miles so I did oil changes at 10,000 miles and the only engine I had overhauled went 1.8 million miles before the overhaul, the more electronics You have the cleaner You need to keep it and when purchasing a used truck ask for Maintenance records people who actually take care of their equipment keep a log of everything done to the truck and receipts for tax purposes especially for major repairs Engines, Transmissions and Rearends ,if it looks like it wasn't maintained by all means walk away.

    Looking at a 2013 Volvo vnl with 678k miles , manual transmission and a isx15 and a 2017 Volvo with a D-12 I shift 800k miles- I’ve owned both of these motors pre- def generation and both excellent motors. I would appreciate any wisdom. Thank you

    Nice SEABEE Sticker, ACB-1 2000-2004 Headquarters Co. Armory here, great videos very informative. Can you do a EGR delete and keep the other DPF stuff on and it run fine with maybe a tune? Anything to get more longevity out of your engine along with PMs. Thank you.

      I was there from 2004 to 2008. I came there on March 2004. I was in the CM shop, Alpha company. When you do a mission delete, all the components stay on the truck and look normal. The EGR valve won't function and the EGR core will be blocked off. And you just put a hole in the DPF filter. The main problem is that you have to be concerned about overheating the turbo with a bad tune.

    Would you recommend buying a 2015 w9 detroit glider with 26000 on rebuild or a newer emissions truck.
