My thoughts on the Casio A168, and the reasons why I think it's an ideal $29 one watch collection. At the very least, in this review, I go over why you'd want to consider it as your first watch because of the versatility and the build. I love the design, I love the functions, I love the watch!

For those that prefer the F91W, the A158 uses the same module, 593, but has a steel band.

I have an A168 in my collection with a silver dial which I really do enjoy wearing from time to time. The dial acts like a mirror which can be distractive at times in very bright sunlight. A really great watch for the price though and perfect as an everyday watch. It is water resistant to 50M which is much better than the 30M of other Casio watches under £30.

Totally agree this is casios one watch collection has everything you need like the F91-W with added better EL light.... Mind you i have lots a vintage casios lol fav being the A700 for me ...But what an iconic piece this is... Great review of a ONE WATCH COLLECTION !!!
I have the A168WE, which has a gorgeous oxblood face and plaid band. My first Casio! And now I have five Casios, LOL

I ordered an A168 and an MTGM900, they get here tomorrow! I’ve been using my GW-S5000U but I work outdoors and the small scuffs the carbon fiber strap were hurting me, so I needed an everyday beater, which is what the MTGM900 will be. I’m excited!

Classic watch, but I feel like “the only watch you need” would have a countdown timer. In fact it absolutely blows my mind how many digital watches don’t.
That's true, more than you think don't have it!
I agree that adding a countdown time would be a welcome addition to this watch. However, it is a minor quibble for me. To me, this watch is basically perfect. It does everything that I need a watch to do.
Bought the clear strap on today and got 3 different straps too. My last Casio lasted 6 years haha, god dam I love Casio

Is display of 158wa a little bit better and clearer than 168wa?
I have both A158 and A168, I swapped their bracelets, and surprisingly, they look even better now, both of them.

It is true this watch is indeed the only one you could need. It ticks all the boxes for what a basic watch should do.

I have about a dozen watches, including a couple that are pretty pricey, and still my $21 A168 gets a surprising amount of wrist time. It's a great watch. Retro fun notwithstanding, it's just a straight-up good looking one too. AND it's a Hollywood watch! James Bond has the Omega, but Wonder Woman has the A168 (Steve Trevor gives her one in WW84). Good enough for Wonder Woman? Good enough for me.
They keep telling me that this is a hipster's watch!! Hell, when I was first wearing it, nobody knew what a "hipster" is! 😂😂😂
I just re-bought it today and it brings back wonderful memories. It is a piece of horological history, just like other iconic Casio models: F91W, CA53W (the calculator watch) or 5600 series.

I have an A168 in my collection. I agree, it's a simple but elegant and functional watch. Even James Bond could wear this watch. I think, it just looks a bit small on a large wrist.

Love it but my only gripe is that the plastic scratches easily!
Yep! Do have to be careful with surfaces as the paint on the plastic will chip away.

I put mine on an 18mm oyster bracelet. It rocks it, as both are polished & the bracelet adds heft.

Had one running since 2016 so yea a long time. If u don’t use that cool light or the functions that much. Even longer, who knows 10 years
