    About Motherland: Fort Salem:
    Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution over 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the government to fight for their country, “Motherland: Fort Salem” follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with the more dominant women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are familiar to our world-but with supernatural tactics and weapons. The series also stars Ashley Nicole Williams, Jessica Sutton, Taylor Hickson, Demetria McKinney and Amalia Holm. “Motherland: Fort Salem” is executive produced by Eliot Laurence, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Kevin Messick, Maria Maggenti and Steven Adelson.

    This scene was honestly the most intense scene for me to watch this season. The progression from Alder not wanting to hurt Tally, to Tally standing her ground, to them fighting, and then the moment where Alder is ready to kill Tally...I couldn't blink and I almost couldn't breathe.

    Tallys character has the most heart out of all the girls her moral compass to do right has always made her my favorite and made the show so entertaining.

    i love how they use language, specifically different accents.
    you can tell Tally learned it from a book, giving it her best try at pronouncing. Close enough but a little off in rhythm. Compare it to Raelle who speaks it fluently and smoothly. (as someone who is bilingual thats very accurate. definitely have done that before)
    but furthermore, all the other characters when saying "my life for hers" pronounce it well but slightly different, the way you can tell its learned. and each of their accents is different from each other, correlating to how they speak english, their unique tone. its such a small detail but i LOVE it

    I much as I liked the Tally and Alder confrontation that leads to their combat to death for Nicte's Life, I was actually annoyed by Tally this episode. I think it's pretty honorable to stand up for your beliefs and speak the truth when there dishonesty. But Tally here felt too self righteous and naive for me as of late . I get wanting to expose the world to the truth about the spree but there will be severe consequences by her action. The Civilians will still hate witches regardless, this will increase the hate even more. Nicte is still not to be trusted and I have a feeling she is using and manipulating Tally for something bigger down the line. Next season the Military and others will realize that Alder's job wasn't easy.

    • @InwardFocus
      @InwardFocus Před 3 lety +22

      For me, Tally wasn’t being self righteous …she stood up to Alder bc her actions literally laid down how the Spree came to be. SPOILER: She went behind Nicte (her 2nd in commands back) and used a seed to make hundreds of civilians commit suicide and as a result, every witch in her coven/under her command were killed and Alder tried to erase Nicte from history to hide the truth, that she was the reason the endless war btw the Spree and the Army started. And her “suicide seed” was at the top of the list of the Spree’s playbook. Alder could’ve come clean with the truth centuries ago, instead, she let innocent civilians AND witches be killed to hide her secret

      @@InwardFocus I'm going to have to respectful agree to disagree with you on Tally's behavior and actions. But I'm quite aware of all the bad that Alder has done and accepted it. But we will see next year when or if we get season 3 if Tally's decision had positive results.

    • @Meavitatenebrarum
      @Meavitatenebrarum Před 3 lety +8

      I also disagree with you saying Tally being self righteous and being manipulated by Nicte. Nicte was once True soldier, good at heart and extraordinary. But Alder betrayed her, vanished her from history for her own pride. I really want to know more about Alder's 300 years of struggle and want to see tally, bellwether and collor for upcoming season.

    If this show was another dumbass twilight-esque, heartthrob, rip-off, with some stupid meatheaded love triangle, there would be like 8 more seasons.
    I'm really pissed we will probably never see Elliots full vision for this universe, and the characters that would have inhabited it.
