Not paying an extra 10k for electronic suspension when A)most people will never use the bike to its full potential and B) those who do normally just use regular suspension anyway, like you mentioned, the majority of the top model super bikes, are not that much better than the normal one, except for the fire blade in my opinion. If you want a killer Yamaha track bike all you have to do is buy a normal R1 and just do a track conversion for a lot less than $10,000 more than what a regular R1 would cost
All the arguments your making against the R1M could be made against the RSV4 factory. Except the factory has even less changes from the base RSV4. It basically just has electronic suspension and different graphics for $8k more.

R1M is actually one of my dream bikes but I totally agree, it is just an overpriced and overhyped R1 with Ohlins bling, data logger (let’s be honest 99% of us wont even need/use) and carbon fiber fairings 🤣
I love how you can get people all worked up lol. Engine & wheels I’m in !! I love ‘em all just can’t afford them all lol. Ohlins is bling. Electronic suspension in manual mode works just like manual suspension, except you adjust through your dash instead of with a screwdriver. You can also adjust the preload on them, even though the manual says you don't need to (which is a lie). I had mine adjusted professionally and I found the manual setting was much better on the track. Just more consistent feeling lap after lap. Automatic mode is great on the street though.
@@adobomoto There is preload. You need to remove the electronic plugs on top and then you can adjust them, then put the plugs back in. It's manual. Rebound and dampening is done with the motor. The Ohlins EC2.0 does not have automatic preload adjustment. That's still done with a wrench like regular forks. Same with the shock, except with a screwdriver.
@@adobomoto also, the riding modes on the RSV4 don't feel that significant. The main thing you will feel is the amount of engine braking. I think they improved it somewhat with the '21+ versions.

It doesn't really matter. If your dream bike is the R1, then you would get the R1M if you can afford it. If the price is prohibitive, a plain R1 is just fine. The reality is, factory carbon being expensive/exclusive is something that's been done on high end cars for a loooooong time. Same story - if you can afford it, you'd option it. Let's not even start with the Ohlins.
I've owned both. 2015 Base model R1 and 2015 R1M. I 100% agree with 98% of what you've said. They are pretty much the identical bike. Suspension, Rear tyre, CCU, & Carbon fairings. I don't count the polished swinger/tank it's just paint. That's it. The price difference here in Aus. $25k AUD for base, R1M $30k AUD(I Paid $25k in 2024). So worth the extra $$ in 2015 yes. Now, It's about the same. The 2020+ R1M has more carbon but I don't think I could spend the $40K AUD now. Your WSBK comment true but that's comparing apples to oranges as the bikes are , should be quoting on the Superstock. ASBK(Australian Superbikes) use the R1M for the first number of years but half the time they just swap out the swing arm to make it look like an R1M :P

I will say IAM DISAPPOINTED with Yamaha pricing there R1 (R1 and R1M) period as much as a base model Hyundai .. THATS WHAT PISSES ME OFF ...
Squid Tips would like to see you....
Was raised by an asian mom...thats tough.
me too..look how I turned out haha
I need more of your personality in my life
Happy mothers day dad! 😂🤣
😂
Yes, it is worth. You don't know what are you talking about. Stick with GROM.
Imo I like the bikes from ducati and R1. But I hate there sounds. I don't like the v engine sound at all. I like the typical inline 4 sound. Like my zx10r makes. But anyway it's all personal opinion.
Feel ya on the don't have any riding friends. I'd ride with ya anyday
Thanjs
What about V4S and V4R??
All the people who can’t afford the M go for the regular R1, besides, u r paying for the suspension, carbon and some internal parts, if u don’t like it, dońt buy it, this guy is a poor clown😂
Did you check out the CRF300L?
no, one of my buddies kinda sold me on a WR surprisingly while I was there lmfao
@@adobomoto oh hell yeah, those are sick!
Agree! Buy the standard. Build “superbike” you want.
Jaboiii! And yes I agree it fr is lol just get a normal R1.
Buy the bike you want all these CZcamsrs opinions doesn't matter ...in the end its about you, ... are you happy riding it , you know what you bought no need to be afraid, its like therapy riding solo or riding with the boys and laughing off near death experience. Just chill
How you riding a grom talking about r1m sucks lol and you had your last one almost a decade ago 😂
Rsv4 gang stay strong!
Haha the same thing for the 2014 hp4 and s1ks lol
Lmfao..yeah the hp4 from 2014 was proving ground for the 2015 😂
Bro you ride a Aprilia lol
R1m overrated
R1 best Japanese bike purely because of the exhaust note. Just like the rsv4 is the best euro bike for the same reason.
Lol i love the cross plane
@@adobomoto it sounds mean !! Especially with a SC project . . . I mean graves exhaust.
Whats your moto vlog setup
Gopro 9, mic adapter, sony mic
Take the grom on a highway trip
Maybe big bore kit first
Haha ninja engine swap to grom🥳
