- Hi everyone,
This is my collage for week 24 of the challenge being hosted by Margarete Miller this year ( see below for details, if the #2024CW challenge is new to you and/or if you’re interested in taking part).
The prompts set for the assignment this week were as follows:
1. ‘Something from the recycle bin’ ~ I used the label from a tin of tuna.
2. ‘A bottle or a glass’ ~ My choice was a bottle and more particularly, a
bottle with a ship inside.
3. ‘ A piece of wrapping paper’ ~ I like to wrap some of my presents in
Mulberry Paper, because that and matching Avril Art Twine just looks
so pretty as a parcel. I have a few sheets of very pale blue Mulberry
Paper in my wrapping paper box, so I dug out a scrap of that to use.
4. ‘ A favourite food’ ~ Fish, fish and more fish.... I love it... any kind and
cooked in any way... just love it. It’s always the first thing I check out
on the menu when we're dining out.
5. ‘Text in a different alphabet’ ~ I went to my ‘go to’ book and pulled out
some Asian text to play with. In the end I used both that book page
and a couple of Asian washi stickers.
Bonus: ‘3 of something’ ~ Three seagulls to perch on my floating bottle
was my choice here.
As always, thank you so much for watching and taking time out of your day to be with me. I hope you’ll join me again soon and liked what you saw me create today to hit Margarete’s assignment for this week..
Hugs C xx

Carol, this is lovely. I think all of your elements/prompts work very well together and the colors play off of each other wonderfully. The ocean/water theme is very pretty. I enjoyed watching you put this together. Your creative flow is very inspiring. Have a beautiful week and happy crafting. xx
Awww such a lovely comment to read this morning Lin. You made my day, bless you. Hope you have a beautiful week too. BIG hugs C xx
Another masterpiece! I love how you bring all the prompt elements together into a cohesive whole. I especially like the whimsy of the sea gulls on the bottle. Thank you for today’s eye candy.
Ha ha just a wee bit of fun with the theme this week. Thrilled and flattered you liked it Elaine. BIG hugs C xx
I so enjoy watching you put these together and I think that’s a lovely bottle. I see them here on Sunday night .So I look forward to them every Sunday night. Thank you.
Sooooo thrilled you liked this assignment. It was fun to do and I wanted it to be a little whimsical too, so added the seagulls. Thanks for leaving me such a kind comment, bless you. Hugs C xx
I really admire your ability to stay open to the process of your collage unfolding organically while simultaneously remaining so deliberate with your placements and aesthetic. And I love the images you have chosen. Another beautiful collage 💙
I generally have an idea in mind but the collages always evolve as the prompt pieces suggest how they'll interact and where they'll sit. My eye (& I guess my slightly OCD nature 😄) always wants to ensure the placement is in the best 'line' for the aesthetics. Many a time I don't pick the best pieces and then I'm fighting to encourage them to 'play nicely' together.... it's all part of the fun of doing these collages for me. Definitely a journey and learning curve each time. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to watch. That's kind of you. Hugs as always from me. C xx
Your mind works like a charm Carol! You got a lovely piece, again💝
Ha ha, I think you're probably the only one to think that 😁. It was fun to try to create a little bit of whimsey in this weeks collage. Thanks so much for popping by, Anita. Hugs C xx
💜💜💜 I really like how this collage came together - thank you so much!

Thanks so much Ann. I wanted to add a light hearted touch on my collage this week. TFW and hugs from me. C xx
Love it! I really like the look of foreign text - it makes me wonder what it's saying! Love the ship in the bottle and the 3 cheeky seagulls!
As soon as I read your comment Jennifer I thought " Goodness I really should Google any foreign text before I use it! " I haven't a clue what it says on this collage. BUT I'm guessing as it was a sticker it'll be ok 🤞 BIG hugs from me. C xx
@@oakhousejournals I'm sure it's ALL OK - it just makes me curious!!
I love the colour scheme for this collage, Carol. I made a collage yesterday with a message in a bottle that had a bird perched on it! 😊
WOW, great minds, as they say.....lol. Thanks so much for watching and leaving me a comment. Hugs C xx

New Subbie. Your collage is beautiful. I just started and am really enjoying the process. ❤
Hi and welcome. Thanks for the lovely comment and for watching. Glad to hear you’re enjoying collating. I found it a couple of years ago now and was hooked. It’s so addictive. Big hugs C xx
Carol, as always fantastic elements and a lovely collage. Much more peaceful than the one I came up with this time. Hugs-- Lori
Thanks so much for popping by Lori. I am sooooo behind with my MM videos, apologies for that. House moving take up so much time....lol. Interfering with my crafting too, quite frankly! 😂😂😱
@@oakhousejournals Wishing all the best on your house moving, that is so much work. ☺
It is but actually it's quite cathartic decluttering and cleaning in readiness for the actual move itself. Oh that and learning patience. The whole process is so slow here in the UK. C xx
@@oakhousejournals Yes I can see that. We have been in our house 27 years, I need to move just so I can be motivated to declutter. Patience is a virtue but I struggle with it.
