Seneca Square Dance/Waiting for the Federals

I know this tune as 'Waiting for the Federals', but was informed by my fiddle student that in the States it is more commonly known as the Seneca Square Dance. So I have declded to incl;ude both names in the title.
I may add some fiddle to this track and uploaad it to my fiddle channel, will have to see how that goes.
On this recording I play an Irish Bouzouki, Mandolin, Acoustic guitar and Bass

Have played this one on my fiddle many times and yes we call it Seneca Square Dance. But no matter what we call it your version was beautiful! Thank you!

A marvelous tune that supposedly goes back to the Civil War days. It was a southern favorite. Ry Cooder included it in the movie the Long Riders. His version is a knock out. I don't know how I found the sheet music -- might have been from Fiddle Castro, but it's easily picked up by ear from any source. Cheers, Mr P.
