I love it. I managed a camera store from the early 90’s until 2013 & it makes me happy that people are shooting with older digital & film cameras. I love my ccd point & shoots/digicams.
The ”gap decade” of compact digital cameras between the end of the compact film camera era and start of the phone camera era is inspiring to revisit.
Hi, I’m Jaden Muñiz, and I’m a Gen Z kid. But right now the digital camera I have actually takes good photos. It used to be that when the smartphone era first peaked out, camera companies thought of continuing to sell their point and shoots by changing the design to make it more sleek, just like a car. But that failed, and no more point and shoots are made anymore. I have a red Canon Powershot SX620 HS that came out in May 2016 right now and soon I will also have a silver Nikon Coolpix S6500 from January 2013. The quality is not as good but the reason why I wanted both cameras is because they sparked an amazing memory from when I used my school’s copies of both cameras for the 8th grade yearbook!
It all comes back to nostalgia.
Digital cameras get you HD photos actually. Digital cameras never went away. We've been using HD digital cameras for three decades.
Not all of them
Not sure if this is the trend in Europe too but buying a point and shoot camera does have its own charm compared to photos taken from smartphones.
phone cameras makes your memories look small and worthless when you film things with camera it's like freezing the time and keeping your memorie. the pictures that a camera gives you will walways look better
Not if it’s vintage digital
Don't point those pocket cameras at the sun. The sensors have a shelf life. And anything with a zoom will pull pocket lint back into the camera and it will wind up on the sensor. Permanently. So, make something to fix that. A liner, etc.
I just uploaded myself using an early 2000s camera on yt today! So cool seeing film and early 2000s digital cameras are growing in popularity ❤️
Yes I do...digicams are bag to here to stay . especially with ccd sensors
Everything becomes fashionable again if you live long enough
My camera Fuji is still working like new . I got the camera back in 2011 .
I bought one all the way back from 2001 from my camera shop and it still works.
As someone born the early 2000s I can't definitely say things have become more expensive
The trouble with phone cameras is that you only have the option of digital zoom which degrades the quality of the photo but a half decent proper digital camera has optical zoom allowing the same function as digital zoom without picture quality loss
Plus a lot of apps can read the photos on your micro SD so they aren't private not like on a proper camera the pro to using a phone camera are having a larger screen to view the photos on as an average digital camera has a 2.5 inch screen compared to the average mobile that has about a 6 inch screen but as of yet I don't know of any phone camera that has a self timer function so that you can be I'm the photo if you set it up on a tripod because most modern tripods do come with a smart phone adapter to mount on them
Might also have something to do with this type of old tech is really cheap, at least for now. Digicams that went for $120 when they came out can be had for like $20..and 35mm ffilm cams can be had for $10 or under.
I’m confused. These photos are blurry. P&S camera were awful lol. These people just don’t know how to use them. It’s the film look that’s loved with CCD cameras. My CX7530 is from 2004 and it takes sharp photos with a classic old school look.
I just unearthed my 2011 samsung ccd digicam. Still works!
This is why manufacturers still need to make point and shoot cameras. No matter what the tech community says, you cannot replace a point and shoot camera with a phone until we a start seeing 1 inch sensors or greater on all lenses.
I want to grow by exploring, appreciating and treasuring all the moments of my life. I badly want to have an digital camera or recorder but as of now, my parents won't allow me because its too expensive, and hoping that I can enhace my skills in photography and filming .
Digital camera coming back? They still rule the world
Much rather prefer my Lumix camera- besides stepping away from being on that dang phone all the time!
Go for (d)SLR, having control over Depth Of Field is pure magic🤞
DSLR FTW!
I think a better way to get that "old look" is to turn up the grain, and desaturate the photo a bit.
Old school reports like this are painful to watch but this is really good, I love an old camera, the imagines don’t have to be perfect and megapixels are irrelevant.
Im glad they are. The picture quality to me is so much better on actual digital cameras than phones
digital cameras making a comeback? did i wake up in some bizarro world lol
I bought a brand new 10 year old Kodak superzoom camera for $2 from a good will outlet
At least I still keep my old digital cameras.
If Gen Z buy digital cameras, I will buy large format monorail camera. 🗿
bro those cameras still take good pictures ist abpout that ccd grainy look , smearing vaseline on your phones lenses wont do jackshit
Omg, as a 15 y/o rn... I rly want a cute little pink digicam. My mom has a black one herself with all my childhood recorded on it and I want my own camera to look back on for when I'm older 😋
Same except I’m 14 lol, but I just got one from Amazon from my parents
It’s a little pink one that’s $50 on a Amazon just to start off with then my parents will get me a better one like a Sony or something
Weird. How are they going to get it up on IG? :p
SD card
With an adapter and sd card
gen z can't do anything new and have to look back at old stuff...
Compact digicams was early gen z, what are you talking about
@@bagged_milk67 No, they were millennial Myspace cameras.
To think those people get paid for all their BS is pathetic.
I always used a camera for taking my pictures, I think the photos are better.
"For those who can't afford a digital camera, there's a hack, place plastic wrap on your iphone" - that costs $1,300 😂
Phone cameras are digital cameras.
im not spending $1000 for a good phone camera that is going to break in 4 years
I have several online shops and most of people buying them are Gen Z kids :). It is a bit weird because I am a millennial who used them like 15 years ago hehe. The times when we used to take them in our bags.
I’m a gen z it’s weird to see my generation saying oh look at this retro phone. I still have a landline phone digital camera film camera I mean I took these things for granted it’s weird. I guess it’s cause I have baby boomer parents
No
At least not those ones.
Disposable kodacs yes
The ones that do the printing immediately and you have to wave them in the air yes
Video casset tape tripod recording video cameras yes why not
But no to those sometimes touch screen digital cameras srry not sorry
First flip phones, now old digital cameras. What’s next? VHS tapes or CDs?
@@Mrcharles.Monorail cameras 😂😂
Are those tiktok kids having nothing better to do?
Are those highly-paid hosts having nothing better to cover?
