- The normal distribution also fits the data after they are transformed with a Box-cox transformation and Johnson transformation.
Use the Box-Cox transformation if your non-normal data are all positive and you want to obtain estimates of within-subgroup (potential) capability as well as overall capability.
Use the Johnson transformation if your non-normal data contain negative values or if the Box-Cox transformation is not effective.
