Grief is the price we pay for love. The deeper we love the stronger we grieve. I grieved my husband when he passed after only three years of marriage I watched mum grieve for my father after 43 years of marriage. Now the Queen buried her husband today after 73 years of marriage. I find the service and readings so incredibly moving. I pray for her majesty . I pray that God wipes away her tears. I also pray that we all see our beloved dear ones again in the splendour of heaven Amen.

We must all remember she is 94 years old this is an incredible amount of grief the Queen is going through. This type of grief is very hard on elderly people doesn’t matter she is Queen Of England. Watched it live this afternoon on BBC World News with my family and I agree - great camerawork and sound, and a very thoughtfully planned service: sombre, elegant, rich in echoes evoked of the man and his long life - and with a half understated kind of intimacy. We will never know what the original plans for a major public funeral at (likely) Westminster Abbey would have looked like, but this reworked version for a smaller congregation was perfectly carried through.
