A MOSTLY-DAILY TRAVEL VLOG

This video shows a positive vibe that you set up a new apartment and you feel all excited and curious about the future life here. That's the beauty of life. It's nice 😛😛
I told you "Nothing Bad" last for long. ;0) Everyone here in RMA, Ca, have been following you and" Lauren's China Life" since the outbreak began there in China. Between the two channels, our town has been falling in love with China, And understanding what we (4500) can do here to take care of ourselves and not worry so much. Thank you and your families.
suggest you consider to install the "invisible grills" on your window and balcony to make kids safer. it will not block too much view.
same idea
yeah,it is better to install
Wow you and Anny have done a beautiful job on your new home!
Please install a window limiter. And even more children protective gadget on the balcony. There are many sad news reported in China regarding to those high rise residents. I don't really want to say this, but as also being a father of a toddler myself, I am really scared when you opened that window in the master room.
can never be too careful with young kids
@@dendrobatus814 Yes, it reminds me of Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven".
H Wy very thoughts - I would be terrified to have a 3/4yo with a door to an unprotected balcony
Paul Zuithoff that's what I thought about when Conner Clapton fell out the window in New York
@@teddybeard8905 It took me by the throat since I've lost a daughter named Laura by violance.
I worked for Raytheon & Generral Electric several years ago and I experience writing in English has become "rusty".
China's home remodeling skills have advanced rapidly in the past two decades. You're quite a handy man like your dad. Annie and Eva are very lucky. Very nice apartment. Thanks for the tour! I really enjoyed it.
Your place looks great! JaYoe
Nice video. My family left China in the 80's. Your videos makes me want to move back to China.
Such an interesting video, Matt. It made me feel like I am a friend you've invited over, and you're just showing me around. I lived in China (Zhengzhou and Xuzhou) for 6 years until last year, and I lived in quite a few apartments (rented of course), but none of them as nice as yours, and a couple considerably worse.
Great informative video.
A priceless look inside China.
That robust cross breeze is great.
China is a nation of self-discipline.
I really enjoy the apartment tours. Thanks 😁
Your apartment looks gorgeous, and thanks for the sharing.
man I love your apartment, it is beautiful!~~
Your new apartment looks really good!! I am happy to see your 3 little fish!! Thanks for the tour Matt!!
Such a beautiful place ❤️
Hey Matt, great to see your updated condo walk through. It’s so bright & looks like a great place to live, reminds me of vacay at Ocean city Md. (not as high as your building though😁). You guys did a great job decorating. I love IKEA decor & gadgets!!! I know many others commented on the windows probably but as a mama with 6 kiddos I’d be paranoid 24/7 about anyone falling out...heights make me nervous too so I’m not sure if I would be able to walk on balcony 😂. It’s beautiful views but I can imagine clinging to the wall as I walk on balcony. Lol. Happy for you guys!!! Thanks for the update. Things in US....sick of news...and as a business owner we want to get back to work with proper precautions of course but people are starting to have hard time paying bills and they are gonna start losing their businesses if they can’t open soon! Praying this whole quarantine virus stuff ends soon🙏🏻.
OMG that window is scary!
My balls dropped when you put the camera out the window lol 😂..
Hahahaha
Really hope the earth can work as your family! Harmony, a lot of it.
Serious concern about that window in the master bedroom. Should look for one of those "limiters" so it will not swing open more than a few inches for air - there will be multiple kids there and when they play in group they don't think - not that they do much to begin with. Get keyed lock for the playroom too.
Wow, your place looks so nice and clean! The rollable dish rack looks very cool. I want one too
Tnx u so much for sharing. I learn many things along d way....be it technology or family life or people character etc etc etc. More power to u sir. 👍
love your apartment and passing on the positive things. thank you!
Enjoyed the tour of your apartment, need to put some safety items across the open windows. Can't believe they would build a beautiful building and not have safety items in place so people or children can't just fall out of an open window. Ordered a t-shirt from JaYoe, can't wait for it to arrive!!! Here in Michigan we are now in lockdown until May 14th!!! Ugh
around the refrigerator, you need to give enough space to disperse heat in order to cool down the compressor.
Yes
So good to know you are doing good and enjoying China! I’m so surprised you guys could live so comfortably in China. When I was there in 2013 things were nice but not even close to what you have. I’m sure China will continue to make things better for the people. Or people make things better for the country!
Beautiful apartment
Love your living room lights, the foldable sink rack and those cute fish dancing in the tank👍
You really need a lock for those windows. That really bothers me!!!!😟😟😟😟😟😟😟🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Oh my gosh I couldn't watch the whole video because of my slow internet but I saw the part about the windows and logged in just to comment on that same thing. Please permanently LOCK those windows, get an air conditioner and air purifier for the house because Eva will fall out.
In the states window guards are required and agreed would be better for young child. The wind noise is from chimney effect of high rise especially when over 40 stories.
God those windows in the bedroom is scary
Whoever design these windows obviously have no clue about safety. It's freaking scary.
Neat and tidy space there Matt!
Very nice and homely apartment Matt; the view from the 19th floor must be breath taking. I agree with some comments on window safety. You may want to consider installing window security locks like the ones they have in the UK.
Oh my goodness, I would miss my big old plates!! :) I deliberately have a mismatched set of dishes - all different sizes and patterns!!
I love the tea cups that you have in China, though. The ones with no handles!!
You and Anny have put together a beautiful home!
Chinese meals are typically served as several small dishes from which everyone shares, so large plates are not necessary. It certainly doesn't mean you eat less food!
You have a lovely apartment and family!
Congrats matt! It’s nice to have a fresh perspective especially when there’s drama unfolding in your state.
LIFT IS THE MOST RISKY COMPARTMENT, THE SALIVA FROM PEOPLE WHO USED LIFT CAN COME OUT EASILY WHEN THEY DO THE TALKING. IS BETTER FOR YOU TO PUT ON MASK WHILE YOU'RE IN THE LIFT.
yea i was thinking the same thing.. when getting into enclosed spaces.. you are not exactly sure how long its been since someone else was in there.. though i am sure Matt will say something along the lines of .. hardly no one lives in the building and Ningbo hasnt had any cases in a while
@Dmitri Bulbasaur NOPE, I USED TO CAP...😆
I thought the same thing when he took it off. NO! 😱
Nice gaff, shadow gap lighting works great and you might be able to adjust the led colour for a more warm or cold type lighting like the light in your daughters room but the settings could be on the lamp/bulb itself. You gave me that funny uneasy feeling when you put the camera out the window 😂 as others have said window restrictors on that to be on the safe side 👍🏻 and you’ll get great sunrise and sunset views that’s for sure.
Matt, First of all, I love all your videos! Thanks for sharing! Please keep videos coming! Beautiful secured apartment! I love the opening, and closing of drapes, and the shades! That cabinet is good there on balcony! You and Anny did a very good job organizing y'all apartment! I love Eva's light! IKEA has good quality stuff! The wind from that window sounded spooky lol! Thanks, you be safe also!
WOW! You put together nice arrangement and lighting/color coordination at your apartment, nice view too, enjoy your life in Ningbo, it is a nice place and have good foods too.
Nice apartment. Enjoy your new place.
You can install a window stopper at the window frame so it wont open all the way. Or you can install a railing at the window sill.
Thanks again Matt, for sharing the privacy of your home..Nicely done. Just a little trivial thing, the place where you hang your face masks, seem like a good place to put a small UVc light to sterilize the masks, keys, handphone etc. Cheers.
Let her feel reading as a reward. Say something like “wow, you did great. You deserve these wonderful books.” Or “As a reward, you get to read to me.” That way, she develops a love for reading. Sorry, I’m a school teacher. 🤪 Like watching your videos. 😊
Tamera Wong I do that to my cats except when they drink water lol
What a beautiful house! I can tell from your face you are quite satisfied about your life now. Hope you all stay safe and heathy.
It is amazing things now have returned to the way they were before the pandemic.
Nice place. Thanks for showing the apartment. I took it as home Warming. Get to know more and more about you. Ha! Ha! Even where Eva sleep and play.
we enlarged our apartment by breaking the wall that divided bot balcony in other to have a larger living room and a larger kitchen and drop one clotheset to enlarge the master bedroom
You are much more relaxed than the last video I watched. Your apt is awesome & so contemporary. Eva's room is so sweet but PLEASE find a way to secure those windows. Omg, my heart sank when you opened it.
On the plus side, having Eva's cousins over to stay nights may be a good way to ease her into her bedroom. Take care.
i think the former apartment seems better than the new one especially as long as the safty and noises are concerned though. you need the double check for safety of your family.
Wow, I'm shock that they didn't install windows limiting how much can be opened as I am sure developer don't want jumpers.
GOOD POINT OF YOU, THAT ALSO LIMITING WINDOW OPENING WHEN HEAVY WINDS. 👍👍👍
That's usually buyer's responsibility to install the safenet measures, that's scary I admit, but developer aren't the one in charge of furnishment. When you buy an apartment in China, your developer will tell you whether furnishment is included or not, if it's included, you usually have to pay extra money for that. Otherwise it's usually buyer's responsibility to find a contractor for furnishment (plenty of them and usually cheaper), so you can have the design and materials you like.
Thanks Matt and Anny! Now to find that rollout dishrack online! Fantastic!
Nice home brother! Be safe and stay healthy! Someday I wanna go visit China. Cheers from Texas!
Between all the flying, two quarantines, moving, IKEA shopping, livestreams, and CZcams editing...... you gotta be dying to get back on that trike man.
Lol my 12 yr old daughter still sleeps with me because my husband works over nights. My son slept with me for many years and finally moved to his own room.
It takes time for them to move on. Enjoy it while you can because when they become teenagers they don’t want to even talk to us anymore 🤣
The best advice would be to have her take naps in her bedroom and then she can sleep in your room at night
Hey Matt! I highly recommend you to install some railings on your window. I think most China family with kids will install that. In some period, it is almost impossible to get kids under control. It might hurt your beatiful view from your window and it might be useless but I think it is necessary. There is horrible news about falling kids every day.
NICELY DONE
bravo, i love your apartment building with the technology/modern staff you guys have.
honestly, for kids, windows room need to be totally lock up or install grilles, plus coffee table on balcony to be remove. should oso, extend the balcony glass high with xtra grille...
we are working on the grills... its a rental we cannot install enclosed balcony
Nice video! Enjoy your life in China!
I love your apartment. Very efficient layout. You guys use doll-house plates. Where I come from the plates have their own zip code. Dessert bowls double as hot tubs.
Top floor of my place in China is also the 19th floor. Same interesting wind effects. You guys did a nice job decorating.
Your new place looks great! My niece was a little older than Eva is now and we went to Grandpas she had to go so she went to the toilet ( it is a yazoo where the seat goes up when not sitting on it) the next thing we hear is 'Help' she had tried to go potty by herself and there was no seat, there she was with her little knees up to her chin and she was up to her armpits in the toilet. She had something very similar to that seat what a great memory! JaYoe
It's a bit windy though. I live in Ontario Canada. I am always complaining about being too windy here, which strikes me from going out to sit on the deck for breakfast or afternoon tea.
That's what happens when you live in high floors... that window in your bedroom is really scary, i suggest some sort of grill to prevent anyone from falling out especially there's a seat there, easily climbed up & fall out. You would have to close your kitchen sliding doors to prevent sudden direct airflow there..👍
Personally, if i ever live in a Apartment, i will choose nothing more than 12 floors up ...so in case of fire, lifts not working, electricity outage...at least it's not a long flight down or up👍
If you don’t have enough room in kitchen build a cabinet above your fridge. And buy another fridge to put in your storage 😄. If you need more you can do like a wood or metal shelf above couch
I love organizing stuff and was mentally do it through the whole Vlog.
Great apartment! The windows are scary though😨 We also just moved to our new studio apartment in Foshan, next to Guangzhou, we've been tested 4 times and quarantined for 7 days!
Pretty cool you're allowed to modify the walls to add fixtures. Most times that isn't allowed in rentals in Australia. The apartment is also reasonably big for 3 people.
The "plates" there are what we call saucers. LOL Your place looks amazing, though.
good feng sui.. wind and water..
Thanks for sharing
Let me know what you think of the 19th floor during an 80 mph wind storm. I bet the water in the toilet bowl will be sloshing. Apartment looks much more livable now, good job and thank you for sharing.
😂 🤣 😂
You live in a beautiful space! I spent time doing acupuncture in a hospital in Shen Zhen back at the end of '88.
almost all chinese proper built condo or apartment unit is like this, the wind should go through between north and south side of the unit, its called "north-south transparent",air convection good air flow always bring you the fresh air, not like the unit here in the west... although we get the fresh air system in the apartment, its still good to have this format, a few secs you will get full of the fresh air you need in the aprtment
Save on AC costs too.
My stomach dropped going out the window🤣
Be careful about the window in the punish room though. Eva may open it
It gives use some ideas for our new house. Similar layout as yours.
What a comfortable life
Hey, Matt: Would you get in trouble if you flew a kite off the balcony, when the wind blows through? LOL!
He won't. The KITE will.
Very nice and well organized home. Love and can use the rolling dowel Matt for drying on sink. Trying to find it to buy for my home😊
lol, what's the name of that sink rack thingy...I wanna buy one for my mum in China
look under “drying rack” or “dish drying rack” on Amazon.
@@mplsmaven9337 thx mate, somehow I managed to find it on taobao. For the interested folks, in English you can search for "roll-up drying/draining rack"
可折叠厨房沥水篮
Awesome update Matt. I loved the hair blown in the wind comment 🤣 Really made me chuckle lol. Hey just wanted to ask... what Drone are you using? Still the Mavic Pro? Are you planning to purchase the new Mavic Air 2 due to be released by DJI on April 27th? Cheers.
I like your place a lot!
OMG You know how to play erhu!!! I am so proud of you!
Your dryer and washing machine are in the balcony. Protected from the rain?
That's what I thought too. I hate rust, so I have a stainless steel Bridgestone Bike
.BTW His Audi Car is Zinc plated to prevent rust. He will reconsider, read my lips.
That is scary about the window. Have to keep a good eye on the children. Kids are so curious.
Wow you can hear that wind.
Our kids get computers. Work at home. I get my daughters tomorrow. She go to go on the new app and see talk to friends and her teacher. They also are getting the families internet who don't have it.
I'd make screens. That's scary. Cut down the wind some too.
Lovely apartment
enjoy your shopping online in taobao, I love it, too. Sometimes you think you are the master of your life in a positive as you seems can buy anything you want online, and cheap!
Wow, that window in your master bedroom is really scary. Wonder if it is bette tho build a small protective balcony out there. Or the builder/ architect left it up to all those owners to build their own security steel frames out there.
The lighting style is called "indirect lighting"
Nice apartment!!
Seeing as there is no regulation on high rise windows, how often do kids fall out of these tall buildings? I guess most people would buy an aircon and use that, but fresh air is best. Why screens are not regulation in high rises is a major surprise for me.
Chinese might wonder why would you jump out of a window of a highrise building?I could still remember we were annoyed by the windows not able to open fully at hotels the first we were in Europe...Guess there is some cultural difference here?
Fang Ren ... I’m talking children... are you saying kids do not fall out of buildings in China or it doesn’t get reported?
@@supremacy2040 there are reports of children accidentally fell from balcony...but very rare....Parents may add extra guardings to prevent that or most frequent, Chinese families will change balconies into a winter garden ...It reminds me that I grew up in community of 1500 people, such accidents never happened. Ok, the windows in the apartments were quite high, I could not evren reach the edge of the window until I was 8 or 9... Or maybe the sample base is too small...But you are also right, I do not think there is a clear regulation for that.
Fang Ren ... ok so the windows are high... many windows in Europe and the west are floor to ceiling or easy to reach. Especially with most people wanting lots of light. So bars or screens even a window lock to make sure the window can’t open too far.
Your home country will be ok. When people say the news, they turn to be angry animals but that's not what they are really thinking. Because I have been through this.
Thanks Matt from Hamilton Ontario
Another point: In the long run I’d be concerned about locating the washer-dryer combo in a place where electronics can get wet and fail prematurely. Make sure they’re grounded.
that balcony railing will give everyone from northern China a heart attack, because of the weather why don't have open balconies, also it is safer for kids. and for plate sizes, you really should travel to northeastern china during winter, that will give perspectives about China. the food, the drinking culture, the people are quite different from the south.
Ningbo is a nice nice city
How do you feel about some states in US are urging to reopen the businesses? I think it’s scary, people are so naive..... they are being so impatient meanwhile the frontline hospital workers are risking their life in saving the Covid-19 patients. The past weekend was warmer.... there are more people are out shopping. I haven’t been taking my boys to the store since mid March when schools shut down.....my husband went into Lowe’s to get light tubes for the kitchen on the past Sunday and it was busy. some people still not wearing a mask. The kids and I waited in the car. And also been seeing more teenagers hanging around in basketball courts, none are wear a mask nor social distancing. 😞
Thank you for showing us your nest. Very neat apartment. Will Eva be going to a private school (International School) or local school!
加油!
Nemo fishes are real survivors!! 🐠🐠🐠
Nice apartment and install a window limiter please !
