She met them almost immediately after leaving home. Her story started 6 years after the Rick blew up the bridge in the middle of the Whisperer War. She and Nat took an additional year to heal. Rick's story opened up 5 years after the bridge, showing he had been with the CRM for 5 years and tried to escape 3 times before we witnessed his 4th attempt. When he joined the CRM it took about a year to train and then another year to 'Stand up' the Stadium as a base. We know this because Okafor said it would take about a year. So when they finally came back together about 7 years had passed since the bridge.

They kinda messed up the timeline. S9e6 was 6 years later. Then remember they had multiple time jumps in season 9/10. (Rosita having a baby, the winter episode, back to summer in season 10) so technically it should’ve been at least 7 years after the bridge when the episode starts
@@mattpsbullshit Honestly, this timeline has been messed up since Carl was on the show because as I said back then, they should have 'swapped' Chandler Riggs out for a younger actor way back in Season 5 or 6 because the kid that met Negan in the Comics was between 10 and say 13. However, with this series we can only go with the 'timeline' they are using, but I hear what you're saying!
Michonne knew Nat for about a year.
I assumed Michonne’s smile while being taken by the CRM was intended to be a mirror of Rick’s smile at the end of the final episode when the CRM caught him after one of his escape attempts. Because both of them knew they’d prevail in the end.
I think she kept RJ a secret because she knew Rick would unnecessarily risk his life to get home and she doesn’t want to lose him again. I was waiting for her to drop that too but i understand why she didn’t say anything. Also, I’m not one for being bummed out from character deaths but Gnat would’ve been a great addition to the show, I’m just pissed I didn’t get a little person walker 🤣

Rick put her journal in his bag, if he reads it he will find out about RJ. What an amazing episode 🫶🏻
Couple thoughts…
1. It’s interesting that it was only after they’d both given up that they found each other. Rick stopped trying to escape and had committed to Okafor’s plans. And Michonne was on her way back to Alexandria.
2. Michonne isn’t going to be able to just leave this place and go home knowing what they do…kill people. She’s not okay with that. This isn’t going to be as simple for her as Rick thinks. And now that she’s getting an idea of how big this operation she may be starting to understand what Rick was up against.
2B. And I get why she didn’t tell Rick about RJ. If she had he’d be so distracted and hurt over not being there for them…even though that wasn’t his fault. He’d be absolutely desperate to leave and might make mistakes…and she knows they need to be smart and careful.
2C. One thing about Michonne is she’s one of very few that’s ever been able to talk Rick into or out of things. So she’s probably going to convince him to fight and not just get away.
3. Nat was an incredible resource. I can’t imagine the CRM didn’t grab his bag of tricks to investigate the weapons he used.
4. I’m confused on this long standing agreement Jadas spoke about. Was she referencing something from their past interaction on TWD or was she talking about an exchange since he’s been with this group? Because there didn’t seem to be any indication from Rick in this eppy or the first one that he even knew she was here and aware of him.
5. Jadas has to die… IMO. She’s changed sides so many times I’ve lost count. She’s betrayed Ric and Negan and who knows how many others. I don’t even think SHE knows what side she’s on anymore. And she delivered Rick to the CRM. She could’ve taken him back to his people….and didn’t. She’s been a thorn in his side for so long. It’s time to eliminate her.
6. Speaking of thorns….Thorne is one as well. She’s drinking the CRM kool-aid and I don’t think she’s interested in giving up the fact that she’s surviving there. And she doesn’t want Rick hoping for a different life again. She may have to be dealt with too.

Jadiss and Thorne. I'm not in a place where I can
speculate in detail but I have afew concerns about
marking them as all out enemies yet.
Also, "We Can Take Over This Whole Damn World If We Want To"
there's something to that and after we do that why can't we bring
the Family here?
Just some thoughts I had.
I haven't been excited enough about TWD in awhile enough to be
deep in the story for speculation!

Love the review. Michonne not telling Rick about RJ in the moment made complete sense with their backstory. Rick doesn’t fare well when he’s overwhelmed mentally or emotionally, and Michonne has had to pull him back from the brink and keep his head on straight ever since Hershel died. Finding out he had a son would’ve broken his brain and gotten them both killed within hours.
Agree I knew that's the reason she didn't tell him. You gotta have good discernment and judgement in a situation like theirs.
OMGosh...I just had a thought. The first eppy was a "catch up" of what Rick has gone through. This episode was a "catch up" of what Michonne has gone through. What if.....this entire series is a retelling of what they've both experienced? What if...these episodes is a story they're telling their family...back home.
Heck that's a crazy theory but I've been wondering about it all day.
If I'm on to something...please don't confirm. I'm just theorizing.

I do think that whenever Michonne DOES tell Rick about RJ, it's gonna be the drive he needs to kick some CRM tail. Kind of like after he tried to play it "safe" against Negan, and Michonne convinced him that they can take him down TOGETHER. He just needs more ammo and that news about RJ just may be the mojo he needs.
I have a feeling that Rick is going to find out about RJ on his own. He took Michonne’s journal and his boots in that bag and I don’t think he destroyed it yet. That’s what I’m hoping.

Girlfriend, I don't think I've ever hated a fictional character as just as Jadis. I didn't like her when she pulled herself out of the the trash, when she turned on Rick with the Saviors and the walker and Michonne has to help get him out that or when she was "supposed" to be reformed. Even when she got him medical care, there was no way she would do that altruistically. and I was right.

I know it's an incredibly small detail, but I really like the "gas man". We get no backstory of this guy whatsoever or how he turned, but in the crazy world they live in this dude realized he was going to die and in his last moments tied a bunch of gas canisters to his body with the hope of being able to help someone else. His dying peace being that maybe someone would stumble across him and be able to use those supplies that he no longer can. It's very honorable in a way. These small and absolutely insignificant details are the types of things I appreciate, especially in the crazy fucked up world that AMC has created here.
For years I've always wondered if I'd rather have Daryl or Rick watching my back.
I realize now Michonne would be the one I'd want watching all our backs.

She's afraid that he will be afraid to lose another son. That he will do something IMPULSIVE. You just said he's a 'bulldozer'. I think maybe Thorne has 'fallen' for Rick, realize she has long since 'given up' on getting home to her someone and it's been 2 years. Jealousy might rear it's ugly head.

All the titles are connected. E1, E2 & E3 "Years" "Gone" "Bye" are connected to TWD S1 E1 "Days Gone Bye. In this episode we see an injured Rick wake up in a hospital to find the World has gone to hell. He goes home but there is no Lori or Carl, however he does encounter Morgan and his son. Rick rides into Atlanta on a horse, where he is saved by Glenn. And the rest is history.
E4 & E5 "What We" " Become" is connected to TWD S10 E13, "What We Become" this is the episode in which Michonne finds Rick's boots and phone on a boat on Rat Island. Where Virgil took her to collect guns to fight Alpha and the Whisperers. However, after she finds Rick’s things, Michonne goes in search of him.
The timeline we are looking at is 6 Years after the Bridge, because that is when Rick, now in the CRM, tried his 5th and final escape attempt, which failed because of a child. The reason he gave up was because Okafor let him know that even if he did escape. That he would be the one sent to look for him and the consequence will be the deaths of everyone Rick loved.
Therefore 6 years after the bridge was THE LAST TIME for Rick, and 6 years after the bridge is when Michonne came looking for him......
19:15 and it’s cool they used clips of when michonne last seen them to and not how we saw them in the final season of Twd when Judith looks much older then she did here lol

When you mentioned when Michonne asked if they could take the CRM down and Rick is like yeah not that easy. And you mentioned how it’s a big base with multiple bases.
It reminded me of Alias. When Sydney was all gung ho to take down Sloane. Then Vaughn was like it’s not that easy. lol He pulls out this giant graph and it’s filled with people in the organization. He’s like cut the head off one another pops up. This is kind of like the CRM.
I was thinking that Michonne should have told Rick about RJ to light a fire under him. But if you think about it, even if he doesn’t know about RJ or RJ never existed, shouldn’t Judith have been enough incentive for him to go back? Like you said she has her reasons of not telling him.

Jadis/ Anne is a problem, but Thorn is going to be a problem because I believe that she has caught some feelings for Rick. However, I don't think he will act on her feelings for him but I want to know then I don't want to know because like all the rest she, Thorn may follow Okafor, Nat, Bailey and his wife. Also, Thorn was telling Okafor things about Rick sooooooo, Thorn is a wild card.
lol i feel like we all had the exact same reaction to the reunion i had no idea what to do with my body or my face and then i just couldn't stop cheesing when i realized rick forgot what the crm even was or how he got there a third of a second after seeing michonne
i can't even lie i feel like thorne might end up being more of a problem than jadis just based on their characters/mentalities

Yes, Michonne's timeline is 3 years from 6 years after the bridge to NOW (present day) 9 years after the bridge. Danai confirmed in an interview that Rick had been gone a total of 9 years.
Rick put Michonne's journal in his backpack. If he reads them I'm sure he will find out about RJ. I think he will sacrifice himself to save Michonne so she will get back to their kids.

I know you want Jadas gone, but there is no way Michoone and Rick can get out of there without help from the inside.
Anne is still in Jadas. Don’t forget that Jadas saved Rick. She could have taken him as an A but lied saying he was a B to keep him alive. She has shown that she does have a conscience. She could have killed Negan but didn’t, she also could have killed Father Gabriel but didn’t. People don’t understand that Jadas isn’t the real villain. It’s General Beale we have to worry about.
I just hope the writers didn’t change Jadas’s character.
At the end of this episode, all I could think about was how Michonne should have just gone home. It would have been better for both of them.

She was heading home when they came upon Rick’s helicopter. The decision to shoot it down would’ve resulted in her death (CRM would’ve hunted her down) if Rick didn’t help get her in the CR.

Michonne is going to die before Rick. It might be Jadis that kills her to take any hope of escape away from Rick, and to protect her own secrets about using Rick, an "A" not a "B" just so the CRM would accept her.
