    I love taking my Rottweiler out to the park! All the different sights, smells, and experiences. He does very well! A little nervous but bounces back, and lays down when asked.

      Awesome. All of the different stimuli at the park is exactly the mental exercise that our dogs need. 😀

      @floridamanrides863 Appreciate the offer..I’m in Texas. There is an excellent professional trainer in Florida. Search “American Standard K9” on CZcams.

      @@EncounterCaneCorso very cool, the other half of my family is in Wichita Falls.
      I had a trainers assistance for Jasper the first couple of months, but then I’ve just taken his training on myself.
      Socializing with someone who actually wants to train their dog is a rare occurrence though

      Funny thing is, even at eight weeks old Tonka was never interested in any dog other than the ones in his home. We will always be working on his social skills.

    Why are you swinging your arm so aggressively when u walk basically nipping him / correcting him every few seconds is this because he always wants to get ahead when on a heal or ..? Obviously I don’t know the dog personally but I feel like this would confuse the dog by corrections him every few seconds

    • @EncounterCaneCorso
      @EncounterCaneCorso  Před 24 dny

      Very few corrections were made. Twice his pace was too fast and when he reacted to another dog. Other than that he’s always a great walking companion. 🙂

    Yes. Unfortunately, in this case, I found out tha Corsi are very very possessive and protective. Even the area commonly used to walk my Corso becomes his "protectorate". I am trying to change places where to wallk him and it seems to work.

      Nice, your hard work will pay off. Regardless, of the environment it’s our responsibility to teach them to do their job and remain neutral in all situations. Definitely easier said than done. Thanks for commenting 💯

    I have taken my current (Bodi) Cane Corso to dog parks/Home Depot/Lowes since he was 8 weeks old, and do it almost every day, and he's now 3 years old. That would be the first tip. Second tip is to get them when they are puppies: adult Corsos in dog shelters are there for a reason, and can't be trusted. Your experience may be different. 2 first males were great, 2 females were lawsuits, so, while loving the breed, I will never rescue a grown Corso again.

      Interesting comment about the females. Tonka will always be slightly reactive, however he doesn’t look for trouble. On the other hand, my female looks to start trouble. Tonka was similar at one years age so hopefully she will get better.
