I get no respect!!!
Happy wife, happy life. Beautiful piece of work.
+Mike Thompson So true! Thanks
Watching this on a Friday night eating a tub of ice cream. Awesome!
Enjoy!
Great job. Our family really enjoys your videos. Thx
Thanks!
I bet it's a hundred times more rewarding to work like this and see all your hard work and problem solving come to life than using power tools to do things quickly.
+Sigurboði Grétarsson Exactly!!
So good. lol the bird. Throwing out the old table. Great humor. Love your work too. I just like that your vids because they make me laugh.. Thanks
Sometimes a laugh is the most important part.
Haha Chris you picked up a fight with a blue jay lol, good luck with that, they are very stubborn. Your work is always impressive and as we can see much appreciated from your wife. Keep up the good work my friend.

U my friend are a Picasso beautiful real hand made art.love it great vid keepem comin
What an inspiration you are Chris! My dad was a very talented man with many skills, all of which he was a master at. He always told me, "almost anyone can use new high quality tools and create some good, but it takes skill to take to make something that is great while using minimal older used tools" Keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much! Your dad speaks such wisdom!
Wow Sr! You are really Awesome!

Fantástic! Hug from Brasil! Viva Bolsonaro e Trump!
Two questions. What century were you born in? And how did you remain immortal? Joking. Awesome work. Subscribed.
14th century. Clean living. Welcome!
Excellent et franchement très joli !
Merci
A lot of work Chris, but worth it, nice---
+TheBeerbelly007 The joy is in the process
Impressive work! I thought about putting glas or epoxy in the middle, but when I saw you at the river it came to me, that a pebble would look also really awesome in the center of that table.
+Michael Kieweg I actually bought epoxy intending to use it. I had not considered a pebble. Good idea.
@@ChopWithChris noooooooo - dont ruin that gorgeous piece of (hard won) wood. Epoxy is just plastic garbage compared to the timeless beauty of what you created. Kudos
Very creative
+Alec Almir Pinto Thanks
Nicely done brother👍
+Smoke eater Thanks
love these build videos.... Rustic is not really my thing, but I love watching the process. good move on slicing off that black top.
+Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) Thanks. It turned out better than I expected.
Great Work.
Thanks
Oh and by the way, could you offer some general tips on finding driftwood. I was stunned to see all that wood just waiting to be picked up.
+umbalaba The key is to walk the river banks in the fall when the water levels have dropped.
Thanks! :-)
Awesome job Chris! 👍👊
+Fred McIntyre Thanks!

Thanks
Wow! What an awesome table! So much character!
+umbalaba Thanks!
Awesome
+YouToobDoode Thanks
Nice!
+Not Just Sawdust Thanks
Turned out great! I like the intro of you running from your wife.....love it, Ha!!! Must be very satisfying using hand tools and turning what once was logs in a wood pile to a nice piece of usable furniture....
+The Muz Shop So satisfying !!
I love when you leave in your reactions to distracting birds and other things like that. Sometimes we try to make things perfect, but imperfections make things more interesting when you highlight them instead of covering them up. Just like with wood!
+MrSuckyVids Thanks so much. My feelings exactly.
Heck, I would have liked and shared just because you said the weight in kg!
Ooooh how I despise that... That... Excuse of a measuring system xD
Ha! Well I once lived in Switzerland I always think globally!
That is one lucky woman.
👍🏻
Go Dawgs!
+Clint Taylor Đặng!! They're pretty good this year.
Your wife is a good sport, Chris.
+Brian Torok No doubt!
Outstanding!!!!!
Well thank you very much!
Ahahahaha "professional clamping system")))))) good irony there!
But lols aside - the table looks great.
Thanks!
Great coffee table. Ya know, if you took out the insert and fashioned a bottom, it would be a perfect place to set that candle to create a sort of indirect lighting. Not sure how it would look, really, but it might be interesting to play around with.
Fire risk? 😳
No more of a risk than setting the candle on top. The one you showed in the container shown in the video should be no problem. You could set flimsy paper up against it and it wouldn't pose a risk.
I do like the idea of a light of some kind.
Then my job here is finished. Carry on, earthling.
👍🏻
Cool
+wessel bolt Thanks
hahahahahahaha the first 10 second had me on the ground for a minute
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice work!
👍🏻
Fantastic table and video! Incorporating the other lumber to make a tier, was simple and a perfect addition. Thank you sir for your content and hard work!!
+Phillie_B_30 You are most welcome.
You are an amazing artist!!Everything you create is perfect!I like your job, your patience and persistence, your sense of humor, the place you live!Greetings from Greece!
Ευχαριστώ! I have been to your wonderful country 4 times. I love the Acropolis.

👍🏻
Excelente, utilizando solo herramientas de fuerza, nada de maquinas a electricidad, te dejo mis respetos señor.
Eres un gran artesano.
Gracias!
This one really got me, and you're persistence is inspiring. Thanks for making these videos and sharing them.
You are most welcome!
"I'm filming over here" - - Bird - so am I - squawk-squawk
+Shogun-Jimi So annoying those birds!
kkkk. Great intro!!!
Thanks
Awesome build, Chris! Watching this project was like the first time I read a Roy Underhill book - something about it just makes you want to walk out into the woods and make something.
+Michael Lawing Awesome!
Well done is right, oh my gosh, cool build, great skill, great patience and both videos a JOY to watch! Thank you sir!
+Henry Robinson Well thank you very much.
The Blue jay is great. ya can't shut them up.
So annoying😖
"Let's bring this thing indoors and on the livingroom carpet for some oiling action."
I brought it on to the deck with the crappy deck carpet.
The good thing about this table is that you kinda have a 2 in 1 table design by removing or adding the small upper section, for example, in case you need to put a tray, just take the top section. Clever design!
+victorMD11 Thanks. Turned out great.
"IVE GOT THIS PROFESSIONAL CLAMPING SYSTEM" LMAO love this dude's puns
Thanks. I wish my wife liked my sense of humor!
Great job Chris! You have an amazing talent
Thanks
Hell yeah!
💪
Very beautiful piece of art, thank you for sharing your amazing video
+Carsten Andersen Thanks for the feedback.
did you do anything with the legs or under the table where it appeared kind rough?
I left them rough.
Hey Chris just a question have you ever thought of using boiled linseed oil instead of Danish oil?
+Cody Bryant I have used it in the past.
Chop With Chris reason I ask is I've used Danish oil and noticed it kinda faded in like a month. I switched to boiled linseed oil it's cheaper you can get a gallon for $15 and I think it leaves a deeper luster to the wood. Just my thoughts
+Cody Bryant hmm. I may have to try it again. Thanks.
I just subscribed to your page. Much respect to you sir! I look forward to watching many of your videos. I will try my hand at a couple of your projects. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks and welcome to my channel!
Hey Chris, love this project!! Can you tell me why you use a wooden mallet on chisels and to hit your ax? Is it to save the handles on the chisels and the head on the ax? Your videos are an inspiration!!
+Neal Shontell Both and thanks
I'd like to ask a question did you actually get in to do this like the Amish and the Japanese do it did you draw your Inspirations from either one of those two their abilities and air tool manship with carpentry By Hand
This video inspired me. czcams.com/video/iYJKd0rkKss/video.html
SHUT UP!! I'm filming here lol that was great. 👍
Thanks. Those blue jays are annoying!!
Blue Jay Whisperer
+Thomas Pinello Not really ! 😄
Holy shit, this channel is amazing! Its sad to see that actually skillful people don't get the recognition they deserve.
Anyways, subbed and liked! Amazing work!
Thanks so much and welcome to my channel.
Should have capped the bottom of the hole and made it a sort of hidden storage area in the center
That’s a great idea!
Oh no Time Table you just gave away where his secret storage spot is! Lol! ;-)
Suzanne P lol
l.p." p p" ph moon
looks good. I would like to make one. do you have plans available for this?
+Tiit Saul I do not have plans. The key is to find the right piece of wood and fit the legs to it.
hahahahaha the bird
The bird?
Wow! He drinks a lot of oil!!!
+신진호 신진호 So much!!!
👍. Are you part Amish? 😉
+Ddbronco No but I've bought some tools from some of them before. 😄
hm, where's that bow..
+Marcus Viberg Now I'm feeling guilty
You live in Ohio chris? I see a reds hat!
Cubs, Reds, and Braves are my favorite teams. When u grow up in Iowa you have to pick someone.
Finely Fun Video! Now, you and your fans should read Mark Twains HILARIOUS short story: "What STUMPED The Blue Jays" - to get a better idea of why your own interrupting jay was so very "loquacious." Twain surmised that JAYS are the creatures that have the most creative powers of communication - including uses of expletives - HA! www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/WhaStu.shtml
Excellent!
smart ass birds... cant trust'em
I hate blue jays!
