      My rig is big too, darlin! Haha
      Thanks for watching, all the same rules apply. I guess except for tire changes..take more than a $50 bottle jack in your case

    It's the reality of being an owner operator. Can't always go to the shop to fix your equipment. Too expensive and will waste too much time waiting to get in. This is one of the big things that separates those who have what it takes to be an owner-op from the guys and gals who just need to keep their company driving job. (That and money management).

    One of the other Hot Shots that I follow recently lost a leaf spring bolt completely. He was able to get it replaced pretty quick while on the road. I have seen leaf spring bolts that are greaseable-I suggested these to him. Are they recommended for HD use such as Hot Shot trailers?

    • @HotshotAdventures
      @HotshotAdventures  Před 4 hodinami +1

      Definitely wet bolts at the center of your equalizer. They have smaller wet bolts for the leaf spring eyes as well, but I don't notice a difference.
      That happens it's common. Need to check under your trailer at least once a week to catch things like that

      @@HotshotAdventures Is it worth if if using standard (NON-wet) bolts to use grade 8 bolts? Would they hold up better?

    Have you used aftermarket tire pressure monitoring systems on your trailer tires?

    • @HotshotAdventures
      @HotshotAdventures  Před 4 hodinami +1

      No
      I'm not that fancy yet

      @@HotshotAdventures I hear ya. Me either. I much more prefer to gage check tires when they are cold-the old-fashioned way. I'm old school and really don't want to trust a sensor to tell me my tires are low.

    Hey Natalie you look 👀 great driving a Ford n do you recommend a Ford for a hotshot trucking career

    • @HotshotAdventures
      @HotshotAdventures  Před 5 měsíci

      I've heard horror stories about all three. They are all going to eventually fail in one way or another
      I consider myself very blessed to have no real issues and no repetitive issues.
      Pick whichever I comfortable for you and that you get a good and reasonable deal on.

    Great video coming senes goes a long way just wondering do you try to carry marker lights and extra taillights

    • @HotshotAdventures
      @HotshotAdventures  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I carry electrical kit to splice a wire if I have to and spare lights for the trailer, although I've never had to use them.
