    Would you consider doing some videos on other side orders. Like Athelstan, and some of the more hidden orders

      Hi Ben - I'm not a member of Athelstan (yet), but can talk reasonably about Blue Lodge, RAC, AASR and Red Cross of Constantine. Maybe an AASR video? I don't think I've done one yet. I'll have a look and see what's in the cupboard!

    I love it when you find someone on CZcams speaking to freemasonry as a Freemason.
    As a Mere master Mason, I take proof from the little “Masonic speech patterns” you exert.
    The “secrets” are well published, but the true proof comes in the form you’ve purveyed.

      He also sparks great interest for non masons too I reckon as he explains everything very well without giving anything away which intreges people and sets them on the path to learn more, his channel was definitely a contributing factor in my decision to join the masons!

      Visit the lodge in Carlisle to see them painted in oils and around 8 feet by 4 feet. Painted many years ago by a past master.

    What do you think is the best piece of literature/book for studying the royal arch degree? I definitly feel lost in the weeds sometimes trying to understand its symbolism.

    • @FromtheQuarries
      @FromtheQuarries  Před 2 lety +4

      That's quite a question - there are so many sources (and interpretations). The HRA is such a vast degree and calls upon so many traditions that it can be hard to get your head around where to start!
      I'd recommend definitely starting by reading the lectures in the HRA degree ritual carefully. They contain a lot more detail than appears at first glance. From there you can either go backwards to reinterpret the Mark and Craft degrees in the light of what you now know, or go down the rabbit hole and start looking around the other traditions that inform the HRA degree. Personally, I've spent a lot of time looking into Pythagorean number theory, but that's just my preference.
      There are a couple of books in the From the Quarries library that might help. You may like to have a look at these:
      fromthequarries.com/library/texts/index/manual-of-freemasonry/
      fromthequarries.com/library/texts/index/higher-degrees-handbook/
      Best of luck with your quest. Let me know what you discover!

    • @FromtheQuarries
      @FromtheQuarries  Před rokem +1

      That's a really interesting question. I'm not a KT myself, but have long researched the historical order. It would be wonderous if there really are links. When I (eventually) join the order I may be in a position to respond properly, but ATM I just don't know!
