We lived together for close to 13 yrs neither of us were living for God when we got together but we are no longer living together and want to be married and do things the right way! Praying for restoration in my relationship with God, my boyfriend, my family, friends and everyone in the world with their loved ones.
Something I'm learning to remind myself more of "What you magnify you get more of." Four years into dating my boyfriend I am learning that I can let go of the little things and lift him up in what I see good in him so that he will be fueled to be his best. I can't expect him to be his best when I am only speaking down on him and his errors. I watched this whole sermon a few weeks ago and it really spoke to my heart. Women tend to "nit-pick" a lot and I'm realizing that some things really just don't matter as much as I make them seem in my mind. Thanks Pastor Furtick for this message that will strengthen and bring joy to so many relationships!

Embracing the sweet and the sour came to mind after watching this. And that you can't place too much of a premium on a specific quality if you're dating because you magnify what you like in early stages.

He broke up with me. We were together in a long distance relationship for 4 years. We met twice last 2017, and recently last summer 2019 which is when we got engaged. And now he broke up with me because he got tired with the distance. He didn't cheat, very faithful person. Its just that his love is fading because of the pressure, how painful distance is and financial problem to work our papers which will also take up to 1 year. At first i got upset bc it was so sudden, i felt betrayed. But then we called earlier to settle things and talk through it. He said he is just tired of fighting against all odds considering he don't have stable job yet. He wants to make a stand in his life. So he is letting me go bc he dont feel the same way as much as before because of the distance and so i am not stucked as well while he figure out himself on his career. He said we can still be friends and support each other but like more spontaneously. I think for the past few years we were so busy fighting against the distance without a break that our relationship becomes so pressured and not natural. What should i do? Thank you so much!!!

I can relate to this. We each magnified the positive at first but then I got nervous and made a mistake and asked someone else for advice. He couldn't forgive that and then only saw all the bad even when I had done so much good.
