Hard to find coins! What is special about 2009 Nickels & Dimes? How many coins were minted in 2009?

- WHY are 2009 Nickels and Dimes worth saving? For us they are becoming harder to find than Buffalo Nickels and Silver while Coin Roll Hunting! If you knew what to look for! Info for newbies to the Coin hunting hobby! Veterans to the hobby please comment with your insight if you agree or disagree with CFA on these mintage's, the debate is welcomed!
In this video we give a tutorial on why 2009 Dimes and Nickels are hard to find in circulation and why we save them all for our collection. Scarce due to lower mintage than other modern coins they can be worth more than face value when sold in rolls and as nicer specimens. Rare in circulation- sometimes we go through an entire box and don't find any.

tbh I've been collecting coins and picking rare/unique coins (04/05 nickels, 09 pennies, etc) out of my change for half a decade now and I've never found an 09 dime or nickel in my pocket change

I've been collection since February of 2018. I've found 3 "BIE" Lincoln cents and a 2000 wide AM. But I still have not found a 2009 Nickel or Dime.
I have been looking for these coins for 6 years and haven't found a single one from either mint. I'm on the west coast so I'm certainly gonna find the Denver ones first.
I find 1 nickel from 2009 in about every other box...and one 2009 dime every 10-15 rolls or so

Great info video, i usually find 1-5 2009D nickels per box of nickels, RARELY find 2009 P nickels, i have been looking at dimes(not in rolls) and i have only found i think 2 from Denver, but when i looked at my uncles ammo can full of change i found i think around 15 2009D dimes. I have sold rolls of circulated 2009D nickels for around 10-12$ a piece, so it can be a worthy investment to wait 10-15 years(if you got the time). Thanks for the video. GL HH

Agreed.
For quarters also keep 2010 and 2011 as they also are semi key I have been selling rolls of 2009 nickels for years used to go for $65 a roll now around $20

Yeah, I've actually found more 2009 quarters than 2010s.
I didn't know there was a mint shortage of the '09 Pennies. Right now, I have 7 of them but 3/4 of the illustrated varieties on the back of them.

From what I've seen getting that roll for just over face value is a very good score as they often go for much more! I've seen some of these found CRH in your vids- how often do you think you find them?
i would say 1 every other box average on nickels, and on dimes 1 every
few hundred face on average, but i have 2 or 3 rolls now in nicks just
from CRH and just filled a roll of dimes.

They also look like skulls when you tip them towards you just barely see it savoring all I can get for nephew treasure chest will present in 8 years thought they were cool skulls on MONEY
