  • You like that???
Thanks to MPZRacevideo I got the oppurtunity to mix my footage of Roger Bolliger's mighty 1971 Pontiac Trans Am in the Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge race at the Hockenheim Historic with onboard footage of this specific race.
The original uncut onboard footage is courtesy of:

Make sure to check out his channel, too. Tons of fine stuff there.

excellent to see this car in competition. I've also a 1971 TransAm, but in original 455ci version.
Butler makes the best Pontiac engines!

Bob Bolliger, you are my new road course hero. I couldn't watch the Indy because I was watching old video of you racing on CZcams, great driving!!

thank you very much for your kind comment.
To get those dual views (almost) synchronical was quite an effort and almost drove me crazy 😜, but I think it was worth the time...

I hate it when my shift knob unscrews itself in the middle of a race. Hey, is that the Porsche in the pits @ 16:05? Still there @18:01! I was waiting for it to retire!

I remember the original races from 1971. These cars back then were not good in the corners. I think this is very good driving, transmission sounds troubled. Love the V8 and the power.

It's a Jerico 4-speed ... really straight-cut gears produce lots of whine and crunchy-sounding shifts. Same transmission most of the NASCAR and IMSA teams use for road course races. Almost bulletproof.

@@jasonescott thanks for that! I was wondering the same! What was the final, did the Porsce win or fall out?

They actually cornered better than the previous gen car.

Anyone know if there will be a second one built to replace this car, the original that got wrecked? This monster gets hammered on, all afternoon at the track, run balls to the wall, and i'd bet money it could be driven home in the afternoon. All race engines break things,
but, this particular one doesn't seem to have that problem. It almost seems like this car had a soul that died. We hope that it, or one like
it, will rise again equipped the same way as the original, Powered by a Pontiac
