Hey Man,... Please listen to Atom Heart Mother, by PINK FLOYD.
    From 1971.
    It's BRILLIANT.
    You shall love it.
    And, it uses an Orchestra.
    Rock on 🎸

My favorite studio is probably Dogs from the Animals album. Favorite live is even tougher; either Echoes live in Pompeii or Sorrow from Pulse. Another band that will take you to a different place is Tool.

One of my favorites is "A pillow of winds", but it has to follow "One of these days". Way back when I didn't have access to live versions of every song. The only way you could hear the live version was to go to a show or if it was recorded on a live album. The only way to see a live version is to be at the show then it was only the one time because it wasn't recorded, it was "live".
Seeing your rock pictures, I used to make my own rock posters back in the 80s and 90s. Acrylic on canvas board mostly. I still have a few.

There are 7 minutes of music before any singing in Shine On You Crazy Diamond, that wouldn’t happen today. Also, if you like Another Brick In The Wall be sure to listen to it the way God intended: Another Brick In The Wall part 1 + The happiest days of our lives + Another Brick In The Wall part 2. And yes, after Roger Waters left the band the rest (Gilmour, Richard Wright -keyboards and Nick Mason -drums) remained together and made more albums but Gilmour would do his own thing once in a while too. After Wright died in 2008 of cancer, Pink Floyd would never play again as a band.

Listen to one sung. By Roger Walters when the tigers broke free about his dad in the war it’s only a short number but powerful Floyd didn’t want it on their album but put it on later.

Pink Floyd is probably the Baby Boomers' greatest accomplishment. But my own generation, being Generation X, gave you Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize, in that same genre. Listen to it. You will be absolutely amazed, I guarantee it.

Sir Gilmour has a clear, sluggish voice that sometimes seems monotonous, lateral thinker Waters has a broken revolt voice, together - if everyone takes on the right part - a song becomes vocally atmospheric and dynamic. Not many people realize that the two took turns on some songs; Rick even sang on Dark Side.
    You can tell by
Comfortable Numb/fantastic one-off Reunion Live 8 concert 2005, because finally the music takes center stage again, no three bored humpballs needing to bounce around for Sir Gilmour; haha.
Your favorite songs were the commercial ones that played all the time on rock radio stations back then, today you would say tik-tok songs. So tastes are different and it's kind of a good thing. Have a good time!

I assume you saw Echoes live in Pompeii but you should check out Echoes live in Danske Poland! A fantastic version 👌! I'm also surprised your mom never heard Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" from the late 70s or early 80s! Make sure she sees the video version, it's great! Thank you for your great insight on these amazing bands!

Pink Floyd never broke up. Instead, Roger Waters left the band and then sued the remaining members to keep them from releasing any new material under the name Pink Floyd. He lost in court. The remaining members released "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" right after.
Your mom would love "Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-9" from the Wish You Were Here album. It's got great lyrics
    Remember when you were young,
    you shone like the sun.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes,
like black holes in the sky.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
    blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!

It is a Pink Floyd cover or a tribute rather.
