My friends were vacationing there when it happened. They asked numerous times if they should leave, and were told no, that everything was under control. When their condo caught fire, they called 911. They were told to stay put. They didn't. But they ended up trapped on a mountain road, because a large tree had fallen across it. They were stuck all night, and thought they were going to die. Rescue got to them around dawn. Their condo burnt to the ground. I'm gonna say that if you feel the need to ask if you should leave a situation, you probably should just leave. The advise they got from numerous people that day was totally wrong.
