@anajinn l can swim. Some guys didn't when they joined. As was explained to me that's what boats were for. You see, l grew up in the prairies, and it's common to know how to swim, but guys who grew up on the cast here frequently didn't learn. But during recruit training everyone learned how to swim if they didn't already. Knots, yes, was taught but as I didn't used that skill regularly, I'm rather rusty as my trade didn't need a great deal of rope work.

Only reason you catch on-stage audio so well is because of audio feed and speakers while audience audio is not picked up as well, so it translates to what sounds like a poor response when it's very much the opposite.

@@ErikSundheim I would assume I am related to the German part of the family. We don't know much about the geology on my father's side of the family, but we have always known the Lehmkuhles to be Germans. I knew the name was North German, I had no idea there were Norwegian Lehmkuhls. As I said, I don't know much about my father's side, what I do know is confusing. North Germans are by and prominent Protestants, but the Lehmkuhles I am directly descended from are Catholic, which led me to believe the name was south-German till I learned otherwise. It is sort of funny really, I have all of these Protestant ansestors in a branch of my family except my maternal grandmother's (Slovak) and I wound up a card-carrying Catholic.
But like I say, we don't know much about my dad's side of the family. Maybe I am Norwegian on that side, I doubt it, I don't know when my part of the family came over to the United States, but I don't think we would have just forgotten where we came from like that.

Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
Worn was its hull, and worn was its rig
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!

We had no compass, no steering wheel either
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
A but sailed after the pull of an old floss hat
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
It was a Sunday morning, we were urged out to baut
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
Oh the chef came from the room, screaming that the keel pig was embarrassed

Its a Norwegian version of Santy Ana:
Here is the text, by google translate
      (Written in sailor English)!
In Amsterdam in the Netherlands was a good and old brig
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
Worn was its hull, and worn was its rig
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
We were going out of Amsterdam with ballast out of the ground
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
And sail home to Fredrikstad and load off planed boards
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
And when we got to the sea, boy, I'm telling you the truth
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
The skipper drank more liquor than the ship drew water
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
We had no compass, no steering wheel either
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
A but sailed after the pull of an old floss hat
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
It was a Sunday morning, we were urged out to baut
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
Oh the chef came from the room, screaming that the keel pig was embarrassed
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
Well, I can no longer sing, for no more he knows
Heave Away! Heave Away! Santy Ana!
Ha jo! The chef burned his ass because the gun was too hot
Heave away, my boys, for Mexico!
