Fashion &... Dynasty MINISODE

The American prime time TV show Dynasty first aired in January 1981 and ran until 1989. The show was based around oil tycoon Blake Carrington and his family, set in Denver Colorado.
The show cost $1,000,000 per hour to produce and $25,000 of that was solely dedicated to the costume department - a budget to rival any couture house.
Dynasty came to represent the epitome of 80s fashion, thanks to its dedicated costume designer Nolan Miller. Miller created the Dynasty look which became synonymous with glamour, excess and shoulder pads.
The lasting influence of Dynasty lives on today and in 2018, 1980s glamour dominated the top online fashion searches.
