A fishing boat crossed the pacific. That is the most amazing part about the story.

Omg I love Darryl's facial expressions as Hide describes his experience. The respect when he says steady hand. The tension when he says "mistake! yakusa boss die!". The sympathy when he says "no English, no money, no job". The "aw man, don't mention it" expression when he says "darryl give me job". And of course, his face at the end is priceless lol.

CRITICAL MAS wtf are you from the future?
I love how they didn't just make him sound Japanese but they also respected Japanese grammar. In Japanese, you often don't need to write out the subject, especially if it's in first person. It's for this reason that he didn't say "I was" but just simply said, "In Japan heart surgeon." Notice how he also doesn't use articles either. The attention to detail here is just amazing.
well... The actor is actual Japanese that speaks Japanese so I'm not really surprised
*THE BEST* THUMBS UP
I guess you are a nikkei?
Why say lot words when few words do trick?
I think this might even have been loosely improvised, because the actor speaks exactly like this (accent and grammar wise)

@Thor Odinson it's not lifted from the Simpsons at all, it's a cynical view of the American Dream which goes back to before however popularised by "Of Mice and Men". The other main reason is the Office would take this view, is because it's based on a british comedy, Britain is much more cynical than America so that is why they are more likely to go down this route, that the American dream is just bullshit and exploitation.
