"Tenchu: Stealth Assassins" is a PlayStation game developed by Acquire and published by Sony Music/Activision in 1998. The game's soundtrack was composed by Noriyuki Asakura.
So many memories of this game... Am I the only one who tried to grapple hook to the fucking moon in this stage while being at the top of that castle? lol
I remember this stage in particular... I was around 6 years old... I was so scared that i called my big brother to beat the rest of the game cause i couldnt stand the fright and difficulty. For me it was a survival horror, more than any Resident Evil or Silent hill...
Seeing that game Sekiro being release made me nostalgic of that good old Tenchu series... And frustrated we don't get any of these game anymore... Like, what happen to this serie ? It was so awesome, it deserves way more attention than that... This serie was unique, the gameplay super fun, and the gore was like an guilty pleasure and identity card of this game... Damn, I miss my good old ninja bloody infiltration game...
They've taken one of Gohda's castles, now they've got to prove they can hold it. This was my favorite mission. I always tried to get as many stealth kills as I could.
davedetrick 7 years later, a reply lol. There was also a glitch where you could grappling hook up the outside of the castle and go straight to the boss, bypassing the whole level lol
I used to love this level because it would be so fun fighting onikage on the roof and knocking him off into the water. also there was a glitch where if your holding on to the roof of the castle and you look around you could see inside the whole castle.

The first time I played this game and this stage, I thought that was the only way win and only a year later that I actually discovered that it was an exploit lol.
I never played this game but I've been watching gameplays of it and the soundtracks are the best!! Not a lot of games today still have that magic when it comes to badass music
I hope From Software revives Tenchu in the near future. Seeing one of their IPs, Armored Core, getting a new & sixth mainline installment despite being dormant for so long gives me hope. That and the fact that "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice" was indeed a new Tenchu game early in its development. So the series seems to be on the creators' minds at the very least. . . 🙂
I wanted there to be one dislike so I could say "Looks like Onikages been on this video" But people seem to have very good taste... And this was my favourite mission so much to do and so many glitches :D

Pretend the bad guys and girls are cops in this game! Also learn about Ancient Japan though. U can pretend you're Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy or some other serial killer!

This track really describes a well guarded fortress. So epic. Love it.

@@Talonnz1 I actually went for the grappling hook immediatly. I only started playing the level "properly" (taking the stairs) many months later. xD
On a remaster for Switch, they would want you to try and complete the level by conventional means.
