She is 18 here, but she hit most fans' radar when she was 15 in a Russian talent contest called "You're Super." You should check out some of those performances to see how far she's come. @@hunam3876no but you're probably not from earth giving your lack of human awareness. She was almost killed as a child and she was adopted because her own mother abandoned her. Her foster parents got her into singing because the therapist said this would help her talk.

I very much enjoyed watching your "discovery" reaction to Diana. She has an amazing life story...which started badly when her birth mother tried to kill her when she was only a toddler. God had other plans for her! She was in an orphanage at 3 1/2 then adopted by one of the nursing staff at the orphanage at age 5. The adoptive mother, Irina, is the source of love and support Diana needed...God bless her! Diana was having difficulty speaking so a speech therapist recommended that Diana sing to help develop her speech. Her unusual contralto singing voice was discovered and then nurtured by vocal coaches. She won many singing competitions and finally got on "You are Super!" because it is a competition for disadvantaged children who grew up without blood parent. She won 2nd season at 14, then was invited to the "Super Season Of You are Super" along with previous winners of the show. She won the super season as well at age 15! She is one of the most popular singers in Russia as well as the world. This performance of "Can''t Help Falling In Love" is part of a new program called 'Showmaskgoon" with 9 singers who judge each other on the Eurovision point system from 2-9. Each week singers are assigned a category and song to sing. Diana's first category was this Elvis song in the Grammy category. She blew the other singers/judges away! She received all but one 9 and was in the top spot at end of show. There are 6 more shows to go. The 4th episode is this coming Saturday. Funny thing is those amazed are the other performers/singers of the show, she sits with them when the others perform.
She is singing since little child, auditioned for Voice Kids at age of 13 but got no votes (18M+ views on her Jodel time attempt making that the most viewed audition of non chosen).
Then at age of 14 her "You are Super!" era started: they made a show for kids with tormented background, and they made funny, beautiful performances like sailors dancing and smiling while the kid is singing, etc.
Then Diana entered, with a voice of an Earth goddess. And since the crew was highly professional they did excellent job giving her the opportunity to shine. She took it,
won that season (Season 2), and the season 3 (Super Season where the best returned) at age of 15.

Yaaay Diana Ankudinova (now 18 y.o.) finally got a new chance to shine in professional environment after 3 years.
The ShowMaskGoon is a new TV show on Russian NTV channel, every saturday (7 episodes left, 2nd already aired),, where best/winners of 3 music shows (The Mask, You are Super, Superstar) perform,
and vote giving 2 to 9 points to each other at every episode's end. So those sitting up there are the other singers, Diana sits with them when others perform.
They got only one 9 point, one 8 point, etc.
So they are forced to give 2 points to someone, and they wont vote for themselves.
(She got 7x 9 points, 1x 8 points this round. The guest star of this episode gave 1 point to everyone equally)(72 total)
In each round, the participants will be offered nine topics: for example, one will perform a folk song, the second - a song by a Grammy award winner, the third - a rock hit , etc. "

Hi really enjoyed your reaction, every vocal coach that has listen to her for the first time I thought there was possibly Of a electronic effect on her voice. Diana is a dramatic contralto with ability to sing with polyphonic tones. She won the first night of this competition all the judges are her competition it’s a pretty unique show. She definitely has one of the most unique contralto voices today. A master at polyphonic overtones, subharmonics, and yodeling as well (that smokey/breathy quality is an overtone). This performance was a culmination of all the work she put into her head voice and high placed mix. When her voice first changed she was 14 on a different competition and became really insecure in head voice. But she managed to win, then came back the following year for a season consisting of prior winners and won again. Igor Krutoy was her mentor on those shows and played piano for one of her finals where she covered Lara Fabian's Tomorrow Is A Lie. The cover that really made her known was Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. She was much more chest heavy in her mix back then, primarily using yodels or falsetto to flip up. Folk music is very much her sweet spot, because she gets to utilize the stylistic features of her harmonics, yodels, and dissonance. She currently attends GITIS which is like Russia's Julliard School.
For guidance on the pronunciation. The Di is pronounced the same in both her first name and surname, like the letter D. The usual cheat code for vowels works fairly well with Russian. Just pretend they are Italic vowels. If you want to see her beginnings you can watch her performance of Rechenka.

Diana previous to on TV has won 40-50 singing competitions nationally and internationally, in fact China asked her not to come back so as to give others a chance to win. She is considered a national treasure which there are only two at this moment. She had a very tragic childhood which you will want to research. She was adopted and gained most of her explosion of world views on a show called “You are Super” for orphaned and disadvantaged children to compete on. She won two years in a row. This young ladies been punching way above her weight so to speak since she was 13..possibly younger.
Please treat yourself to some of her early performances and you will see an incredible stage artist with a virtually unique contralto voice... bordering on the shamanistic at times.
Shes had to practice to get into those high notes but the control and bravery of what she does with that voice will leave you wondering.
Shes an artist born out of some real personal adversity and you will no doubt hear about the 🤦♂️ moment she entered the voice Russia.. but she grew out that even.
As for this performance its her first adult competition and i think we can agree she broke the proverbial glass ceiling with her opening salvo 💥🤩😎💖

Her voice is very flexible and that is her main challenge. I'm extremely happy to listen how she manages higher notes in this performance. I am a fan of opera singing and classical music so it is probably says something that I'm also a fan of Diana's talent. Thank you!

Diana has a gorgeous voice, how about doing a Floor Jansen cover song or Nightwish live anything from 2013 forward where she is the front woman? Thought that in covers or Beste Zanger TV show 2019 you'd hear her voice clearer when full metal band isn't behind her. Although her voice has so much power that it carries well over the band when they play harder.
