BEN SIMMONS career is OVER

  • Ben Simmons just couple of years ago looked like future hall of famer. Tall, strong point guard, able to defend any position. He was the pinnacle of 'trust the process' at Philadelphia 76rs. But his career, after the game against Atlanta Hawks took different turn. Doc Rivers did not help Ben, and the Simmons got traded to the Nets for James Harden, to form a big 3 with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. And again...life had different scenarios... Both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant got traded, leaving Nets with Ben. Irving to Dallas Mavericks and Durant to the Suns.
Ben's back injury history, paired with some dodgy behaviours, suggests that this might be the last contract of Ben Simmons in the NBA. But does it? Or maybe Simmons will get another shot? Simmons already underwent surgery on his injured back and supposedly it went good...supposedly...Can Ben Simmons get back to his top shape, both physically and mentally?

It was over when he quit in Philly. He was done when his day game wasn't any better 3 years later.

Compared to Lebron, Ben Simmon had comparable physical and natural talents.
His mentality, compared to Lebron is like a firefly VS the moon.

Agreed. And the thing is that LeBron is not some mental juggernaut. He is weak compared to guys like Kobe and MJ. This makes Simmons look even worse.

That is true. Bron, wether someone likes him or not, has a role model career with how he handles himself.Besides, Bron also struggled with 3p shot early in his career. Adding it as a reliable shot later. So yeah, they both in theory a decent comparison. Ben will be a big "what if" when he is done. And usually the "if" is a result of injuries, but with Ben it will be more like a result of lack of dedication.

I just believe he never loved basketball. He played the business side of it better than anyone. He got payed. I got D1 offers for football starting freshman year. I hated practice. I was electrifying at football but I only played because I was expected to play and all my friends played. I just wanted to play baseball. I think he's a tall guy with all the talent in the world to play a game he doesn't like playing. It happens.

I believe he was told to lower his trade value so he could easily be traded for by the Lakers. What happened tho is that he really did turn into Has Been Simmons and The Lakers pulled out of the plan.

Rich Paul though has cut his links with Ben..they do not work together since then. So if that was the case probably ben would open up on this matter, when his career went downwards so much abd opinion about him. Rich Paul though already had some questionable advises to his players in past..that is a fact and i might make a video on it too! Thank You for input

Someone will pay him not for what he is but for what they hope he can be. He got drafted on not what he was but what he could be. Coming out of college you saw what he was. He couldn't score. He didn't always give his all. He was the same player in the NBA. Nothing changed. Why change when a team will give you more money than you ever can spend. At age what 23 you never have to work again. You never have to get out of the chair to do anything. When you give a player that much money with who he is you are getting screwed. Injuries happen. But when he played, he was stealing money. He didn't care he got his money. In the NBA you can't take the money back.

His career isn't over. He's earning $37m this season and he'll be earning $40m next season. It's only after the end of the 2024/25 season that we'll really know what's happening with Ben. He's already made more than enough money to not have to worry about anything. Career earnings to date are $125m.

@@mrich70 I don't disagree. I just don't see him being given a contract by another team and I don't see him turning things around. He's gone too far. He's damaged goods as far as every team in the NBA is concerned.
A healthy Ben Simmons with a jump shot is one of the best all round player in the NBA. An injury prone Ben Simmons without a jump shot is one of the worst players in the NBA.

Nobody wishes him bad, but he will never again have that sort of contract in nba for sure, if he will have any in NBA. Though he will have offers rather surely, but from this "lowest possible" range imo.

He made money none uf us can even imagine. But also living this way is super expensive. When Ben was fined by 76rs there were reports that he is on a verge of losing financial liqudity. Cant say how reliable those were, but it has been reported. If that was true and Ben would be still so irresponsible with money - he might go bankrupt few years after ending NBA career. Not wishing him it though.
