- Here's proof I don't always fly first or business class!
This flight was with Vueling - the Spanish low cost carrier with the difficult to pronounce name. The flight was from Venice to Barcelona.
My Vueling flight review covers Venice Airport, a nice Italian espresso, a couple of fighter jets, some members of the UAE Royal family, a club sandwich, a can of Pepsi, the take off, landing and the onboard experience on the Vueling Airbus A320. If you look closely you'll also see unvacuumed aircraft carpets and a quick glimpse of the baggage carousel at Barcelona Airport. All up it promises to be a riveting review so please sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.
If you're a first-time viewer of my videos will be either delighted or horrified to learn that I've got a whole channel of flight reviews. In essence this allows you to spend the next 3 hours getting well and truly sick of my face and voice but at the same time learn about an amazing variety of airlines around the world. There are worse ways to spend the next 3 hours so take the plunge.
Once you've done that you'll be wanting even more so there's a handy little CZcams feature that allows you to subscribe to my channel and, by clicking the little bell, you can even get instant notifications that I've uploaded a new video. Imagine if you activated notifications and then when I uploaded you became one of those super cool people that commented 'first' or were the first one to like it without having seen the whole video. How cool would that be!!?

"For IFE, windows are provided" - great! Watching our beautiful planet really never gets boring.
Thank you Dennis. Allways a joy to see your video's. They are the best! Thanks
For in flight entertainment a window is provided. Would they reduce the fair if they had a plane without windows ??
Selva KK or a middle seat?
Technically you can crank your neck to see the window from the middle seat but then they coudn't oversell seats so that's not going to happen.
Selva KK well then the aisle seats get an even smaller view the window. On a short flight it is not really an issue if you have your own phone or a book. Just plan ahead.
I got a chuckle out of that remark when Dennis said it!
It is cheaper to make a plane with no windows. And windows are heavy so it costs more to fly with them. So yes your ticket would be cheaper if there were no windows
It's not about first, business or economy class. It's all about how well presented your videos are! You did a great video once again, Dennis!
Thanks Dennis for yet another fantastic flight review.
Excellent trip report Dennis! Keep up the good work. I'm a big fan of your channel!👍
Thanks for the amazing review Dennis once again please keep up the good work
Brilliant video as always Dennis👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you making me smile , your reviews always make me smile, good morning from Tassie.
Brilliant as always!! Made my day.
I'm loving your jokes and the more conversation and realistic thoughts rather than just critical thinking! I realised you're doing this more and I'm becoming a fan!
Thank you, really appreciate it
Thanks for your useful and entertaining video. I'll be flying Vueling for the first time next month and had no idea what to expect. Thanks again 😊
Westjet, a similar airline based in Canada, offer a similar product on their flights. I upgraded to the front row for the 1hr 30 minute flight, which was definitely worth it as I'm 6ft 6'! Drinks and snacks were provided, and I was surprised that drinks were served in proper glasses. For £16 or so ($30 CAD), it was definitely worth it as a one-off!
Great review as always Dennis!!
lol, love your video!!!! (like how you put the details of the flights) waiting for your new videos :)
great video Dennis; always happy to see a new video from you ! Vueling are a reasonable carrier I think, they seem pretty good at what they do [ not heard of Excellence before, didn't know they offered that ]
Awesome video as usually came the good work up 👍
Awesome review, Dennis!
I'm flying Vueling in two weeks !! Same route ! Looking forward to this trip. Thanks Dennis !
I love the amount of times you tried to said Vueling. Hilarious!! Great video per usual!!
Nice. Love your videos. I fly them always when visiting family in Spain!
Great vlog Dennis!! Best airline vlogger on youtube!!!
I love the vel vel you really are the man Dennis please keep up the good work
Another great flight review Thank you
Another fantastic review
Entertaining as always (even the intro text!)
As usual, a great report with subtle humour. No PJ’s.....what a disappointment!!
Brill video as always Dennis
Love the Aussie way of pronouncing vueling
Great video Dennis i enjoyed it.
Great job, Dennis!
Another great video and good to see a budget airline being reviewed
Thanks Kaylene! :)
Great Review! 😀👌✈
I Love that you're doing more European airlines know.
Nice one!...the menu looked extra good too....better than some I've had to choose from !!
Your the first review I’ve seen for Vueling that’s positive mate haha
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing! I flew Vueling twice last week for the first time in years. I booked the Optima fare for an extra charge of 40 euros and that included free of charge seat selection and checked-in luggage (up to 23kg) on both flights. You paid even more and got a definitely better seat with much more legroom. With priority boarding, I guess. My economy seat in the back came with much less space. Paid 10 euros for a beer and a sandwich. I agree that you pay more but also get more.
Great video, can you do a KLM review one day?
Great info, I'll be flying with them for the first time in a few weeks so good to know what to expect and how much space I'll have to fit under the seat (not a lot it seems 🤣)!
Nice one Dennis, the other day I tried Volotea from Prague to Toulouse. So many airlines in Europe I have never heard of haha
just started looking for a flight review videos and an email came through from you, amazing :)
Great video! Vueling fly a lot to my local airport Cardiff and they are definitely an airline i need to try!
Very nice video good job with the video camera work
Another Q&A video would be great Dennis!
You alighted with the espresso and chocolate
Great video 👍
Love fresh air from lounges .. long gone in most now. Never flown ex Venus .. on my list now ! Was a beer comp as well ? Nice video .. always informative :) ah . & I always pay on 3K (Jetstar Asia) for the front rows .. well worth it !
Lolol “I thought the slice of lemon was a nice touch” ... what - NO PAJAMAS?? I’m so used to seeing you in swank airline digs that this struck me as hilarious! Thanks, Dennis!
Whilst most people hate RyanAir and EasyJet, I actually quite like them, the most basic fare is enough for flights ~3h in Europe. Great review Dennis.
; ) Great Job Dennis
As a Spanish speaker and having flown with them, they and I pronounce Vueling /booeh-leeng/. :)
You've got a new subscriber. Time to catch up on your videos!
lol, I love the entertainment options part.
No idea on the pronunciation but great timing on the video as I am reviewing the airline myself soon. Looked pretty good!
I'm flying Aeroflot in a few weeks - I wish you had done a review on them before i booked, ha.
Sam Chui and all the others genuinely have nothing on your reviews den!! Don’t want to sound like a kiss ass but keep up the good work mate always an enjoyable watch 😃
In-flight entertainment is the window 😂😂😂😂 made my day
Great video. Worth mentioning that often the Excellence “cabin” is populated by people on multi-leg Business Class itineraries in the Oneworld alliance. A lot of people might not notice the key difference when they book. It’s okay to pay a little extra on a one way economy fare but do watch out if booking a multi leg business class booking! It may have a BA or Iberia code.
great video
"For in-flight entertainment windows are provided" pithy and to the point. Nice review of this LCC airline, not been on it but thanks for covering all the bases in the review Dennis. Looks pretty good. Would you go excellence if you had to pay for it extra? Given most viewers will be looking for best bang for buck
Traveling in Europe you don’t need to fly excellence or on any business class, especially if you’re paying out of your own pocket. For 1,2 or 3 hours standard economy is good enough. Everyone in the uk complains about Ryanair but I love them, their flights are so cheap. A few months a go I flew to Nuremberg from Manchester from £30, return. For £15 on a 2 hour flight I’m not bothered if I have to get a bus to the plane. I think they’re excellent. Never had an issue at all. Vueling I’ve not tried yet, mainly because I usually find a Ryanair fare that’s cheaper.
Oh, and great video as always!
Burns Night Unless your need more luggage then it's actually usually great value to go for the slightly fancier seats as you get perks plus bags for only a touch more than if you just paid for the bags.
Totally agree on Ryanair, always been perfect for me. You get on, watch a video on your phone and you are usually at your destination in 3 hours or less no need to anything fancy
Well it kinda depends on how tall you are, I'm 6'2(190) and want to feel my legs afterwards or not cramp up during the flight
smeagol150 Thats absolutely fair! Good point
Jozef Brodala usually it only makes sense to go for the expensive seats if you’re carrying with more then 1 bag in the hold. I carry 1 or often non if I’m only going for a couple of days. Unless you have really long legs for a couple of hours it doesn’t make sense to me to pay that much more. Granted it isn’t much more, but as a % of the overall flight cost it can be quite a large %.
Easyjet is also a good option for cheap, short European flights, sometimes they have a great deal for Africa so I bought a ticket last year from Amsterdam to Marrakech and back for only €75!
Aviation is amazing I want to become a pilot soon.
Vueling (pronounced Vwelling or Bwelling as in Wellington) is one of my favourite European low cost airlines. They make flying a light, bright and fun experience. At the same time, their flights are comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Many good memories and looking forward to more flights with Vueling! If only they were the ones expanding on long haul and not dull Level...
Need to see you do a review of Ryanair.. preferably one involving stag do trips to Magaluf or similar. Get the real traveler experience. :)
In Spanish is if the first letter is a V it is pronounced as B so Vueling en Bweling, Balencia for Valencia. Great vids you make, cheers Mate
Greeetings from Brazil Bud
I "bought" an Iberia ticket from MAD->MRS with BA miles and ended up on Air Nostrum, another LCC. My one bag was included and their economy seats were just fine for the 90 minute flight. I was looking at Vueling, but they wanted a stop in BCN and I didn't. I'll keep them on my list of possible LCCs for the next time, though.
Nice man!
Healthy option: A club sandwich and a Pepsi?
keluj 888 it had a slice of lemon too!
Well, the slice of lemon makes all the difference between an indulgent meal and a healthy one. 😊😊
you mean bepis
Came here to say this lol
Exactly 😂
If you book Vueling on Iberia.com and book on a Iberia flight number, you get extra benefits for being a oneworld frequent flyer of status. For example, with qff platinum we revived the ability to use the fast checkin lane, virtually endless amounts of luggage and the checkin lady even moved our seats forward. Although the airlines won’t directly inform you about this, it seemed to work for us!
thanks for the info
Thanks. Nice concise review...but you think Pepsi is a healthy option? 🤔
Great channel - my experience of Vueling to Mykonos was rather disturbing - missed approach which as an ex pilot I could see 2 minutes in advance that the crew needed to go around as i was on the inboard side with a totally clear runway in sunny and clear weather with no crosswind or turbulence etc.. Honestly my most worrying approach and landing ever.
I have flown this airline 3 times previously from Paris to Spain = the other two times were great...
A friend booked a Vueling flight to Rome and I was to meet her there. I flew Ryanair, and they were excellent. Vueling decided to fly their flight 24 hours early! Yes, a whole day early. She turns up at Zurich airport only to find the flight had left a day early and she had no notice and no help to get another flight. Cost her a fortune to get an alternative flight on Swiss Air, and something that neither Vueling nor her insurance were willing to pay for.
We had a great relaxing few days in Rome, but she needed it after being so stressed by Vueling.
John Sim Your friend must be pretty moronic to not realize the plane was leaving a day earlier then scheduled..
Why was she even at the airport a day early! Seems like BS to me
Given that she worked with an airline and was doing a round-the-world trip it's highly unlikely she got it wrong! Every link was carefully planned and booked in advance.
Vueling ran the flight a day early, for reasons you'd be best to ask them.
Your friend was either negligent or full of it - working for an airline has nothing to do with it. Furthermore, if she worked for an airline, couldn't she have just taken a z-fare? They would have sent her messages informing her that she could either accept the change or be entitled to a full refund. Depending on how early they advised her of this change, she may have been eligible for compensation. I reckon your friend just booked it on the wrong day by accident and then blamed it on the airline.
Thanks for reviewing Vueling! I live in Barcelona and fly them all the time. They get a lot of bad press, but I personally love them. I refuse to fly RyanAir or EasyJet because frankly Vueling better suits my needs and leaves from Terminal 1! By the way, it's pronounced Vweh-ling. Cheers!
San Miguel beer on the menu 👌🏻
I've flown Vueling a couple of times...and I like it. No muss, no fuss, the flight attendants are very friendly. BCN is a great airport, too. Lots of space, very comfortable. BTW, I pronounce it "Vwelling."
amazing video i love the channel please try out the new polaris product on united
he already did!
i mean the new polaris product
"Welling" with a V at the front ... VWELLING"! Veulo means "to fly" in Spanish, and the ING is just a standard suffix to make it sound "English". I'm enjoying all your vids!
Flew with them last year (Rome to Oslo) and was very impressed
I think that within the low cost, next to Norwegian, Vuelling is perhaps one of the best in comfort along with "maybe" the easyjet or Transavia? I'm not sure. But the war in Europe as cheap prices has already reached the big companies "Joon", "TAP discount", etc ... and in Joon I have seen cheaper travel than in Ryanair .... (to spell on phonetic syllables)... Vuh-ha-lling... 😁😁😁 good flights 👍👍
Good review, as usual, Dennis. Thanks...not sure pepsi is really a healthy option though !!
I really like vueling when I flew them from london to Barcelona to Ibiza
Priya Paul I love that route- I fly it a lot too, it’s so quick and easy
Love Venice airport, been 6 times!
Oh look Dennis, this time it's EK in the background...lol.
"For entertainment windows are provided" hahaha that's hilarious!!!
Watched avengers yesterday, was surprising to see you in one of the adverts before the movie!
I still haven't seen the ad in the cinema yet - would be a bit weird though seeing myself on the screen whilst sitting in the cinema.
An advert ? Tell me more
I had a good experience with my flight from Barcelona to London Heathrow. Easy check in. Good leg room despite having shopping and my handbag. I would recommend Vueling.
Their excellence fare is similar to Club Europe by their stablemate BA. All economy planes, but the Business Class fare is an economy seat. There’s a different menu though from the normal fare.
I can’t wait to see dennis flying Ryanair
I do travel a lot of vueling and I think that the excellence fare is only worth if you pay for the same 99 euros or less. Having said this, I always take the normal fare+ exit row seats or priority seats (15euros) (these are rows 2-4), which have more leegroom than normal seats plus plug in to charge your device. If I want something to drink or eat I pay for the same.
do you need to print the boarding pass or do they print it for you at the check in counter without extra charge .? TIA
I choose vueling a few times from HAM to BCN. It's easy, cheap, Clean and direct. So a good choise within Europe!
"For inflight entertainment windows are provided" 😂😂
Dennis! Will you try to make a review on Singapore Airlines new long haule flight Singapore - New York, the flight will take 19h and it will be only Economy Premium and Business class seats onboard. And the new Istanbul Airport will soon open, it will be the world largest airport. Will you try to make a review of these, will you?
Thanks for the great reviews!
Catching up on reading...with Foreign Affairs Magazin no less. Good choice! ;)
YAY thanks !
Nice report, but you were lucky, because this one is pretty old interior, you can check my review with them, I've had newer seats and no legroom (and I'm 171, so not tall at all)
I am 1.92m or 6.3ft and big boned;) The legroom and not having anybody next to you for me with the Excellence Fare is PERFECT. I don't fly different anymore..
I just want to say thank you for doing all your "subscribe to me; like this video" stuff at the end of your video instead of within the first minute like so many other CZcamsrs end up doing.
Hi! I’m Spanish and i fly la Lot in Vueling. Its pronounced with the spanish pronounciation. Its name means ‘vuel’ that is the part of the ñame that has something tp do with fly and the English -ing😉
Attend the F1 race in Barcelona too
I would love to see Dennis review Air India business class
