My grandparents are from Caguas and took me there when I was young but I don’t remember much, I hope I can revisit someday!

If you took the time to ask for a tour you would have all your questions answered. I did. And the guide was VERY knowledgeable of the different trees and plants explaining which were indigenous, against those that were introduced by the colonizers. If you don’t have the knowledge then one shouldn’t criticize without first seeking the knowledge. Especially when it’s ready and available to you at the source. Q viva Caguas. Visit the garden my ppl it’s a great place to spend some time.

The day that we visited there were no guides. Besides, no place can have a guide for every visitor. That’s why signage is so important. So are printed materials. You can’t print something at the office, stick it to a counter with scotch tape and ask people to photograph it with their phones. That’s below third world.
I’ve been to dozens of national parks, state parks and quite a few botanical gardens. In Puerto Rico we have a saying: "pueblo pequeño, campana grande”. But when you run into someone that has actually traveled extensively you can’t fool him/her that easily. The facilities at Caguas make for a great park, but a botanical garden they are not.

Wow. As I recall, my only negative remark was about the so called “botanical garden”. Maybe you should visit a real one.
