Todd was someone who made fun of people who thought God was real, and he wasn’t surprised when he didn’t get an immediate answer to a prayer. But could God be giving us small but obvious answers? And how patient do we need to be to get those answers?

I've spent the last 5 years of my life as an Atheist, and the last year of my life losing everything I have (including a military career) to the horrors of alcoholism. I think it's time to give God a chance again.
He doesn't just give you another chance but infinite chances I hope you can keep pressing on my friend.

He loves you and will do whatever it takes to help you return to Him. Never loose hope. One step at a time with His support you will succeed! Not Mormon (almost was), but when I was investigating the church I was shown this video by missionaries and sobbed. I have so much love for your church and its teachings although I didn't join for reasons I won't go in to. As someone who suffers with depression, this video means a lot to me. Our Heavenly Father, who created the entire, beautiful Universe, cares so much about each and everyone one of us, despite how small and lost we feel sometimes. Our Redeemer lives.
I'll maybe join some day when I've re-conciliated some things. Just a lot of confusion in my life right now. But I'll keep an open mind. Thank you!

I met Todd Sylvester. He told me among my friends this story in much greater detail. He was able to demonstrate a level of persistence I didn't know to be possible.

That’s the Holy Ghost he will always comfort us
This is one of the videos the Missioneries showed me. I was inactive for 3 years. Did many things I shouldn't have in those years. I made horrible choices. My life was going horrible. I was to end my life as well. Depression and Anxiety took over me. But thanks to my patriarchal blessing, to my bishop, to the missionaries I am still here. I love this gospel and I love my savior. ❤
I am the same way. I've suffered from depression and anxiety for much of my life and have encountered suicidal thoughts along the way. I was raised in the church but always took it for granted and never built my own testimony, just going along with it, and I eventually fell away. So many times have I felt alone and there were times of absolute darkness, not just in depression and agony, but in true evil and sin. Now I'm at a crossroads in my life where I need answers and I pray that God will help me. I have always been a seeker of truth and knowledge and pray that God's will will show me that. Whenever you feel alone know that you aren't because someone else knows how you feel. You are loved 💙

God is everywhere, he surrounds us, with all he has created for us! We live in a planet in the middle of the UNIVERSE, we have been provided with all that's needed to sustain LIFE, air, water sunshine that makes our plants grow , trees for housing, steel for cars, stuff to make gasoline, Fruit and vegetables, rain to bring things planted to life! The ocean provides us with food as well! GOD EXISTS!🌻🌷🌻😇Let me share a quick story! A few years ago,I met a man while looking at new homes at the sales office, he happened to work there! I have a Real Estate company with my husband, and we were seeing what they had to offer! Anyways the man I met that day started to confide in me about his life,and what he was going through at that time! He had been in a very bad accident, though he didn't have a visible mark on him! But he showed me he had lost his leg from the knee down! His Doctors, wanted to keep him on heavy medication, he felt uncomfortable about this! I asked him why? He told me he could still feel his leg, like it was physically still there! I'm a very religious person, and this happens to me in public quite often, where people ask me for advice in life! I began to explain to him, that feeling his leg was a great thing, because he was feeling his spirit of his leg, which ment that it would be apart of him again, after resurrection! And what a comfort it is to know that you really have a spirit, and he would bemade whole again one day! The medication was so he wouldn't feel the part of his leg that was missing, but as we spoke he changed, he became very happy and thankful to know he truly had a spirit, and feeling his leg actually brought him peace! And he had a personal witness of God in his life! He thanked me, for helping him with his questions his heart had! It brought me such joy, to know that I could help him ,even if it was only for a half hour! His soul lit up after that! It was a great blessing I could comfort him, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, and all that I have learned from the savior! Some people don't choose to believe in God, for different reasons! But Jesus Christ lives, and the sooner people start believing in God, the better off the WORLD will be! We can see the WORLD FORGETTING him now, and it's done nothing good at all, for anyone!🌻🦋😇

I'm currently still learning more about the lds church and studying the scriptures, talking to the missionaries. It's helpful to me. Though it can be difficult for me with my mental health issues. I can testify that I feel closer to God

I felt the same way back in 2011. I broke down and prayed to God. I didn't really think He cared let alone listen. After that break down prayer things started changing in my life. One night November 19,2011, this man and his wife came to our show, I had never met them before. For some reason I knew he was a Mormon. They seemed so happy. I had this strong impression I needed to go to his church the next day on a Sunday. I thought I was losing my mind!! I went anyhow. It felt so wrong but this voice kept telling me to go. I did. So many miracles have happened since then. I am now a baptized Mormon myself. Go figure. My life is forever changed for the better. Everyone told me I was crazy to go there... The voice said go. I am sure glad I listened. Life is amazing. God is listening!

Hi guys I am Mormon and now today we call our selfs lds or latter day Sants I am very well planted in my ways of this church and it is soooo important to me I always here people talking bad about it and sometimes I feel uncomfortable but when I watch these videos pray and read scriptures I feel things that are so amazing I can’t even explain it is a true blessing to be apart of this church and I hope I never take it for granted:)
Hi, everyone forgive my profile picture, but I have a 17 year old sister who has lost her way (she is a straight A student doesn't drink or do drugs!) and this video gave me a strong feeling that I should show this to her and although she did not want to watch it at first I am not going to give up because as an 11 year old I know I can't do much, in fact and can't even pass the sacrament yet but i'm going to keep trying because it would mean so much for my family to get sealed in the temple together and also I just love this video.
You can do it. Anything is possible through faith, keep pressing forward.
God is no respector of persons, he does not see your age , colors, race, gender, or job status, he listens to the prayers that accend to him from your heart.
Be patience with your sister. God the Almighty is watching over her and leading her back into His presence. Be patient with yourself and fill your life with #Light, goodness, positivity, and in time she will see your #light and happiness and talk to you more. Don't give up on our Savior the Alpha and Omega.

I have never in my life commented on video on youtube. i have never had the impression to comment. but this morning when i visited my facebook page i saw that this video and followed the link and i am proud to be a Latter-day saint. i am very certain now more than ever that we are in the right place.

***** pride has two meanings in the English language. One is a happiness and a satisfaction in something or someone else for the good it is. The other is an uplifting of one's self above those around him and is the heart of every sin. I am proud of my sister and her purity. It humbles me to be around someone so spiritually mature. But these ideas are not contradictory or mutually exclusive because it is the first type of pride.
Sometimes we just need a little reassurance. Around the first time I went to the temple, I was starting to have doubts, but going to the temple with all of my friends and the youth in my ward helped me to push away all of those doubts and feel true peace and happiness again.
I love this story. I've seen it many times. It was on our Institute assignment for BYU Pathway this week. I was so touched this time, so deeply touched. So grateful for all the events that led up to his conversion. God puts people in our lives at the right time, there are no coincidences. We all wait on the Lord for something. I love this story because is shows that things take time. We are never forgotten or forsaken. Never never never give up, there is so much hope and happiness up ahead.
I've found myself at a very low point in my life. After I wake up, I lay in bed for about three hours because I feel so negative and have no desire to do anything. It all started several years ago when I started watching some anti-mormon youtube videos. At first I could easily tell the spirit leave me, but gradually I would watch them more and more until I didn't realize how desensitized my spirit had become. Then gradually I started losing faith in God altogether. I say a ton of inappropriate things on a daily basis, use horrible language, and am always in a bad mood. I am spiritually dead. I just watched this video, and was able to feel a tiny bit of the Holy Ghost...just enough to let me feel convicted of the way I've been living. I think that when we are living a life of wickedness or negativity, and we willfully chose that wrong path even though we were shown the right path, it's harder to feel the spirit. And it definitely takes time to get back on track.
Keep the battle going. Don't give up my friend. Listen to your heart, and to the whispers of the Holy Ghost. Pray and ask questions if you have any. God loves you, and has a plan for you and your family.. keep fighting for what's right

If we feed doubt it will dominate our thoughts. If we feed faith it will dominate our thoughts. It's not wrong to investigate your doubts but be sure to investigate all sides. There are many pro-mormon websites out there that refute anti-mormon claims.
I am a convert to the LDS church, now for 21 years. I joined in Spain when I was 27 years old after many years of bad choices. You can do it Chris! Usually, the adversary will have you believe there is not hope and no way back. Not true. There is! Rely on Christ the Lord. He suffered for you and for me, for all of us, so you may stand up again and live to the stature you are to live, as a man of God, as a child of God, as a disciple of the Living Christ. It will take commitment and perseverance. In church you will find plenty of support. Inmerse yourself in Scripture study and prayer... seek that light. I will come back. I promise. I know it by experience. You are loved!

I am 18 and have fallen into deep Anxiety and can't seem to get out, I turned my back to our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, I pray everyday, I pray for an answer of help and strength, I pray for guidance, And i am starting to read The book of mormon and going back to church! My dad recently got his Melchizedek preisthood and he will baptise me....... I seek help and answers from God! I am looking forward to this day!
You can get through the anxiety. We are promised joy and peace for the most part when we live the commandments! I know it to be true. I also experienced bad depression and anxiety when I wasn't living the gospel. Faith in God to help us when something bad is happening like a panic attack is key. Ask him for help and have faith he will help you and it will work. :)

I know how it feels to be anxious. I'm only 12 and I've had to have counseling because of my anxiety. I know that you will be able to overcome your trials and find happiness in the church.

I have a daughter who is soon turning 19 and will be serving a mission, She has dealt with severe Anxiety for at least 10 years, As a highly competitive Figure Skater, It has brought her nearly to Collapse before Competition and During. We fasted and Prayed and it never really got better, until we understood why, we just didn't trust God enough to know he is going to be with her, in our Darkest Moments and our Happiest, God makes no discrimination of how we are feeling, in fact I believe he is with us ,even more when we are afraid and unsure. Remember this and that you Truly are his Child, and as You will Love and always be there for your children as I am for my Daughter, How much more Loving and Caring even God the Father is than we could ever be! You will be Awesome Skiitz, there is no doubt about it. :)

I'm a Muslim. I had downloaded and memorized this clip 6 years ago. I always listened to it when I went to university. I fought like a lion to get there. I knew God was real and that He illuminated my way to get there. I never believed it, but God made it possible for me. I haven't seen this clip for 4 years since because I have fought like a lion again to get my MA's. Now, I am almost done and decided to see this clip again. It brought me back memories. The feelings of how proud I am to be on God's side and the tears that fill my eyes because I know that He loves me... We are all loved when we follow God's light and when we accept Him to guide our hearts ❤

God speaks to you by your heart, you see God when you believe in him, your heart sees God, and your eyes see the light.
I have seen Gods light, it was so sharp and beautiful , I was loosing my business , my home and trying to keep my family together around 2007. I was laying in a doctors office and was told I had to be still for 45 minutes. As I lay there I saw the most beautiful light coming from a window, I knew it was holy and peaceful, I knew it was from God.
Now I know God is for really. Now I know when Noone loves me He loves me and he will put me exactly surrounded by people that can show me His mercy. 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

I was talking to a friend of my brothers in a group message. He sent a photo of the bombings in Israel and said "if you only God were real...He could fix this."
I told him that God did live and that He loved him. He continues to send messages proclaiming why He isn't real. I decided to find a Mormon message that only proclaims that He does live. 2 hours ago this video was posted and it was the first one I saw. The fact that this video was here when I needed it only proved that God does in fact live and He is there even when something so simple is needed. I love my Heavenly Father. This video was beautiful and I hope this young man watches the whole thing. :')

So you know God exists because a Mormon message came at a time when you were looking for God? Suppose you had been looking for God, and a Muslim or Hindu video had been played? Suppose two Jehovah's Witnesses came to your door when you were struggling with faith? The thing is, when we seek truth or confirmation of truth in men, men will try to give it to us. The only truth we can trust is in God's word, the Bible. Seek God among men, and you will get a God that appeals to man, seek God from God, and you will get a God who appeals to God.

It is early Sunday morning and I am so grateful for this beautiful inspiring message.. I personally have found that when times are hard and you feel lost and forgotten and no where to turn.... I have been addicted to drugs and thought it was the best feeling I've ever felt. Like he said in the video, feeling the spirit of God was the best feeling I've ever felt in my life. It was pure bliss and peace. God is real and he loves us so much. we just have to submit to him, love him, and keep his commandments. I experience joy when I keep his commandments and read the bible and bom.. I always have a good day when I read the scriptures and I feel like everytime I go to church it's the best day of my life....

Every time I watch this video I feel an indescribable feeling of joy.
This video changed my life two years ago, when I felt I was at the bottom. I hated every inch of myself, convinced God could not hear me or was too disappointed to look my way. This video finally gave me the final push I was searching for to send me back towards the person i wanted to be.

I am a Mormon I know that there is a God and he has a plan for all of us and he loves all of us.
This is a special answer to my prayers. I know that the Lord has a plan for us and that prayer and fasting will enlighten us to understand and receive help from God.
I shared a similar path that this man took early in my life. Like him, I was able to eventually see God's light in my life and that He needed me.....today. Since that 'day' I continue to feel His light helping me traverse the complexities of life and even finding joy in it. Thank you for this NOW favorite 'message' you have ever produced. For some reason this story has resonated with me. I've never forgotten about it and I come back often to watch it to remind me that God does know us by name and loves us individually. He knows our circumstances and will help us.
Im 17 my entire life I was always happy until latley, until I thoight about my past hidden in my subconscious. 3 years ago after my grandma died, I asked god to help me and live a good life, things didnt change until latley. 3 years 8 months and 1 day later I have finally came to god Im ready to feel his love. When I was the church pew behind everyone, and the church was singing hymes I started to cry and I dont know why. As may pastor prayed for me after worship was over I could tell, I know that everything's going to be okay and my life is going to be a good one.

This is so beautiful and powerful. This inspires me to share my testimony;
I know that our prayers can be answered, maybe not in the way we want or imagine they will be answered, but how we need them to be answered. God lives and loves us. And he needs us. Sometimes he needs us to be the ones to answer the prayers of others. I believe that each of us are here for a divine purpose. And we need to be mindful of being open and willing to act on all promptings we are blessed with.
It is all too common to feel lost and alone. But that need not be the case. I know that God only wishes the best for us and only he can help us achieve that. God has set out a plan of happiness for us. Keeping the commandments doesn't need to be be viewed as rules that stifle and restrict us, but rather steps we can take to become our best, and our happiest.
If we put all our trust in him and continually take those steps to grow and become like him, I know we will be led to happier lives forever.

Someone had to pray about the hotdog. 20X stronger than any drugs. This is the same feeling I had when I was 15 attending a youth camp. At a young age I've been involve in gang and serious drug addiction. I remember we don't have light in our house that time coz our life is hard, I'm in my room high with drugs, all darkness around me. Im thinking to end my life.
But when I return back to church my first time again is youth camp. This kids like me are so happy without drugs. I attended seminary after that. Institute. 100 of fasting in my life I did literally almost everyweek to overcome addiction. I served a mission and now I'm married in the temple. The Savior can save us from our darkest life. He's my Deliverer out of darkness to light. I know He is real.

I am speechless, as he describes what he felt at the picnic... For years I had been begging God to show me he hasn't forgotten me...that I was worthy... To show himself to me...and "never got an answer" until Oct 2014 my first General Conference I was listening to Elder Anderson's talk...when all of a sudden I began to feel something I had never in my life felt...I couldn't help but smile...but I also couldn't fight back tears... And just as Todd says...I FELT AS IF SOMEONE WERE HUGGING ME...

Heavenly Father doesn't always answer prayers in the way that you may want. But he will eventually will give you an answer. He will give you small answers in small instances and if you're willing to listen and search those small instances will lead to larger revelations. That's how God works it just takes time
That's true! I had a very hard time in my life for a few years and when I was 14 (2 years ago) it was the hardest time. I prayed so many times about it and I cried in many nights. Then we drove to the temple with our stake (the youth) and when we were in the temple I prayed again about my situation and after my prayer I felt so good and I felt peace and love in my heart. The next day we did seminary and then there was a scripture. After I read it I realized that it was the answer to my prayer and it told me what I have to do to get out of my situation and after 6 months it happened! I was so incredible happy about it because I finally could break free of this hard time! What I wanna say is that he will answer you when you are ready to get the answer. As you can see in my case it can take a very long time. You just have to be patient, you have to keep hope and faith even if you think that he won't help you. He will!

The happiness he describes at the end is the love of Heavenly Father shown to him by the power of the Holy Ghost. The first time I felt it, it was like a lighting bolt of bliss in my heart. It's different for everyone but it's a happiness beyond anything you can imagine without first feeling it. If you haven't felt it, don't give up. Heavenly Father is waiting for you. I wish God would have sent someone to my son. We tried, we prayed so much for him. But he took his life anyway this past Jan. He was 26. 😢 forever in pain. I do believe in God still, I just wish it could he different and I am truly grateful to have had 26 years with my son Baylor. I miss him so much. I ache, I hurt, but I’m thankful.

It's this kind of closed mindedness that makes converting people so hard. "let no one say otherwise to you".. Why not "always ask people why they say otherwise"? I know you think it sounds like you're underlining your firm belief, but for everyone who has a different belief than you it sounds like you're not willing to discuss the issue (i.e. blind faith). I'm not saying you can't tell people to put fingers in both of their ears whenever someone argues against their faith. I'm just saying people might not think you have good reasons for believing in what you believe when you do so.

This is probably the best Mormon Message to date. I am a Mormon and I am proud to be one. I know that God is real, and he knows each and every one of us. I can relate to this story because I have had the Lords hand work in my own life. He is working with me everyday. For those people saying that this is just an emotional tug, I would say you'll never know until you drop your pride and humble yourself and ask the Almighty. He will show you the way.

I guess this makes me emotional because I can relate. Beautifully told story. We each have a journey and purpose in mortality, and we all find our path to the Lord in our own ways. I personally don't know what I'd do without the Gospel of Jesus Christ and membership in the LDS Church. Christ makes those dark moments not so dark.
I am a Mormon and the messages the church of Jesus Christ show us make me know more and more the we have a loving God that always listens to us and answer our prays........ I just can't wait to go back home to heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Upon reading these comments, in addition to watching the video, has strengthened my faith immensely. Hundreds of testimonies of Jesus Christ and His gospel-all from just ONE video. ONE. These are accounts (aka testimonies) of Jesus Christ HIMSELF that I do not doubt He will use to prove His Saints worthy of entering His Kingdom at Judgement Day.
This video (and Let God Guide You: From Weakness to Strength) has taught me that God is kind. He is loving and forgiving and completely understanding of our circumstances and situations. I have been quite hard on myself throughout my life, but God asked me, “Why would you talk to my daughter that way?” It hit me like a brick. I realized how judgmental and overcritical I had been of, not only others, but myself. He has taught be so much. Having faith in Him doesn’t necessarily meaning not worrying about it. Job worried. He cried and cared-a lot. He expressed his emotions and circumstances to God. Christ showed Him the way. Christ gave Job mercy and kindness. Christ was there for him-always. Why are we any different? Progress takes patience and time. Progress is *practice,* and practice is not perfect; nor does it make perfection, but improvement.

This video do help me so much. I thought I was alone with problems (attempt suicides and been waiting hear from God for so long). I start to gave up on the church when I believe that there is no God. But with this video, Todd remind me about God do answer my praying in other ways such in small methods. Also, Todd's story helped me to remember my journey to joined church and my struggling to find Him. (I am still struggle though!!) I'm thankful for this video's powerful message and remind me that I'm not alone.
+Kimberly MacLeod You are not alone. Many of us struggle. I know the Church is true, and I know that Jesus died on that cross for our sins. But that doesn't always take away the pain and heartache of this life. Even when I know that part of the atonement was when Jesus was in Gethsemane and he felt all of our pains and heartaches. That is one reason that the Church has LDS Social Services with counselors for us to go to have people for us to talk to. I have used them a few times now. Maybe you should give them a try?
Remember...Heavenly Father and the comfort He gives is always only a prayer away!
This is such a powerful testimony of the love of God. It is also a testimony of the change that this man was willing to make to hear the Lords answers for him. Heavenly Father fills me with awe with His love for us and our problems. He patiently leads us by the hand into His grace if we are willing to let Him guide us. God is real.
