I absolutely love your work, such great tutorials as well. I do have a question, on this particular clock your base coat is resined, can I begin putting down the glitter , embellishments, etc. by laying them down on a painted MDF board and following up with resin once the design has been achieved? Doing the resin as you describe in this video, just not having a resined base to begin with. Hope that makes sense. Thank You for sharing your talent.
🥰thank you Yes, I think you can just prime the wood and do your design before pouring resin as a topcoat. I usually like having that resin base in case I want to leave some of it exposed (most of my designs are done "on the fly" lol)... but if you know for sure that you will cover the entire base with designs (glitter etc), then yes, a base of resin isn't needed. 😊
@@LiaDiaDesigns thank you so much for your quick reply . I primed my board and then poured a base coat of acrylic paint. Waiting for it to dry and then will do my geode designs and then top with resin. Can’t wait to experiment.

This is just stunning! How do you get the mica mixture so smooth? Mine looked terrible when I tried it with some Polycrylic I had.
It does take a bit of mixing sometimes, depending on the mica... but it should smooth out
@@LiaDiaDesigns thank you for responding to me! The Polycrylic was really bubbly and just didn’t dry very nicely so I bought some of the Duraclear and that is much better. Yay! I really love the technique as you said, it gives you so much more control than the resin. Keep up the amazing work!
Absolutely beautiful! What drill bit do you use for your center hole? Do you tape the resin and drill thru to protect the resin from getting damaged? Not sure how to do the drilling.

💕thank you! To be honest, I have no idea😅😅 I gave the clock mechanism to my husband and he gave me the drill bit I needed and told me to keep it in my studio for my clocks 😅💕 .... when I'm back in my studio I'll see if it has a code or something on it

when you apply your glitter with a brush, do you use the gloss varnish as the medium?
Yes, I do... in this video, and in many of my other videos, you can see i use gloss varnish in various ways
